Telling Their Parents

Steve walked in nervously. His parents were no where to be seen.

Probably at the Sanctuary, checking on- He started to think, but stopped. Silveny and Greyfell were no longer at the Sanctuary. Then where are they? He asked himself.

Steve sighed in relief when he saw them walking towards them. But they don't know who I really am, he remembered. They think I'm some stranger walking on their land.

As they walked up to him, he started panicking. How do I tell them? What is going to happen? How will we fix this?

"Hello? Hello!" Grady said. How many times had he said that? "I asked you who you are."

He cleared his throat. "I'm So- I mean, Steve. And....I used to be Sophie."

They look at him strangely. "You used to be? What does that mean?" Edaline asked.

He let out a breath. "Fitz- I mean, Fiona , Dex who is now Dora, ,Biana who is Brandon, Keefe who is Keeara, and I all turned to the opposite. We think it's because of my new mirror."

Edaline's eyes widen. "I knew it." She turned to Grady. "I told you!"

"Told him what?" Steve asked nervously.

"She told me that something was wrong with that mirror," Grady admitted.

"What!?" Steve exclaimed. "You knew and still gave it to me?!"

"We're so sorry, Soph- Steve. But we thought it would be best after what happened to your old mirror," Grady said.

"Really? You couldn't have gotten a different mirror?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"Well... You like this mirror, right?"

"I did until it changed me into a boy!"

He chuckled nervously. "Well... We'll figure this out. I'm sure we can talk to Elwin about it."

"You better. I don't want to stay like this forever, and I'm sure my friends don't want to either."

"Don't worry, So-Steve," Edaline said. "We will figure this out, just like we did with all the other problems. But while we wait, why don't you and I go shopping?"
