Andy pov

I open the door to Dru's gorgeous car and slide in next to her. She had gone silent and I felt bad for bringing anything up about it. She didn't want to remember or have people care anymore, it seemed like. I just met this girl but already I felt very protective of her and I vowed to make her life as easy as possible these next two months.

"So rock star, where would you like to tour? The library, the high school, or the grocery store?" Dru interrupted my thoughts sounding very sarcastic.

"Hmm the grocery store sounds nice. You know, with all the food." I play along and get a phantom smile from her. She nods at me and opens the garage door before starting the car up. Mmm dayum it purrs. She drives for a bit until we get to a small park.

"First up, White Oak park and beach. Where most of the trees are, indeed, white oak!" She sounded just like a tour guide; it made me laugh.

"Can we check it out angel?" I say in between chuckles. She hops out, not even opening her door, as a response. I open the door and step out walking next to her. Dru leads me to a small path and I can hear children screaming and laughing up ahead. We get through the copse of trees coming face to face with a lake beach. It had a small boardwalk that had a fisherman on the edge of it, a boat drop, and a playground in the water.

"Whoa, impressive!" I look at her smiling like a goof. It'd be awesome if we could go here together! I tried to push the image away of her in a bikini, but holy Jinxx! It was pretty sexy.

"I guess. The waters really cold by the shore for some reason. Feel bad for the little ones that endure that." She tells me through a smirk.

We walk around the beach for a bit and we told each other about ourselves. We told each other when our birthdays were (hers was October 17), what our favorite color was (red for the lady), favorite pop (both of ours was mt dew), and more small details. I was so happy that I didn't notice right away when her small hand slipped into mine, but when I did I committed the feel of her skin on mine because when she realized she did that I probably wouldn't be having any physical contact with her.

I peeked down at her and stared right into her sapphire eyes. A wave of desire flew through me when I saw her cheeks darken in a blush. Taking my free hand, I cup her cheek in my palm and rubbed my thumb over the pink. All I could see was her, she instantly made everything else disappear as soon as our eyes locked. Was i....... Am I....... In love?!?!

Dru pov

The moment I felt his hand tighten around mine, I knew I was in for some trouble. Why am I not freaking out? This felt completely normal right then. With that little contact, everything seemed alright. It didn't seem like I had been beaten by my boyfriend or raped by my stepdad. It just seemed like I was finally home and safe.
