Dance With Me ~ Chapter 2
Jared's POV
Her?
I'm gonna be dancing with her? The girl I humiliated in front of the whole student body? Why her? I didn't even know she danced! First, I'm forced to take dance classes and now I have to dance with her. We're dancing tango too so now it's gonna be even more awkward.
I didn't even want to be in dance in the first place. My mom used to be a ballet dancer until she broke a bone in her foot causing her future as a dancer to crumble to the ground. She then claimed that "I do too much football and basketball and no dance" so she decided to sign me up for these dance classes. I mean I can dance; I have dancing in my blood so it's not that hard. But my mom apparently thinks that she can live her dream through me and I don't want to disappoint her, being the only child and all that. So here I am being expected to dance with her; Rosie.
"Okay, now that I've finished pairing you guys up, you can stretch and talk with your partners while I go finish some paperwork," chirped Ms. Rivera.
She then turned towards me,"I hope you enjoy your classes here Mr. Dereen". She then flashed me a smile and left us to stretch and converse. I turned to Rosie and met the sparkling gems that I had seen before. Now that I think about it, without her glasses and large clothing to cover her up, I could see that she had a slender body and was actually quite pretty. No, beautiful. I looked down to her plump, pink lips and wondered how I would like to kiss them...
Wait! What am I thinking?! This is the same boring old Rosie from school that had a "way-out-of-your-league" crush on me. The one that I knew I could make blush with one easy and confident smile. I can't be thinking these things about her! I guess I can enjoy intimidating her now, I thought. I smirked and walked up to her petite body as she was stretching, obviously trying and failing to ignore me like you would with a pesky fly.
"So Rosie, I guess we're gonna have to make this work somehow so you just let me lead this, okay?" I nonchalantly said.
"Okay," she mumbled looking down, hiding those gems of hers.
Just as I was about to sit down and begin to stretch, Ms. Rivera steps into the room and the class's quiet chat abruptly stops.
"Okay, since we haven't covered the art of," she paused, "tango, I would like to see what you guys can do so Ann and Derek, you're up!"
As Ann and Derek go to the center of the room and the music starts, I look over to Rosie and see her peeking a quick glance at me and turn her attention back to her classmates who were dancing.
How will I survive these classes?
