Chapter 1: current day

Nicki:

I get up and go shower,today I'm going to find out my sex of my baby. Yes I'm three months pregnant living in beautiful condo in Miami. I own a well known bank so the money is great. I never have any doubts of not being able to provide for my child. Although I'm going to be raising this child on my own I try not to let that get the best of me.

After I did my make up I put on my flats because wearing heels now kills my feet. I headed outside to my range Rover and drove off.

When I arrived at the doctor office I went inside to sign my name. "Nicki!" I turned around to see who was calling my name it was my best friend Tiffany. Tiffany is a doctor here, I really wanted her but she was all booked up.

Tiffany walked up to me and gave me a hug. "Are you excited to find out the sex?" She asked smiling hard which made me laugh a little. "I am, can't wait to plan baby shower. We walked over to the front desk so I could sign in then Tiff had to get back to work she had a another client. I waited in the waiting room for about 10 minutes then my doctor came out.

I laid back on the doctor bed and looked up to the ceiling as my doctor put on her gloves. " okay Ms.Parker are you ready?" she said smiling. I looked at her and nods, I swear Im so excited to find out the sex of my child.

I felt the cold gel on my stomach, I watched my baby move around on the screen. Mrs. Jones studied the screen then turned facing me smiling. " well Ms. Parker it look like your having a beautiful baby girl."

Hearing that i was having a daughter was the best news I could ever have. After Mrs.Jones finished telling me when my next appointment was she started staring at me like she had something to ask me. I cleared my throat then her face turned red. "Can I ask a personal question if you don't mind?" I raised my eyebrows "yes, I don't mind."

Every time you come you never bring your boyfriend or maybe even a husband. Most women that come will bring their partner. I just want to know do you have one.

I knew this question will come up. "Well it is a long story, he left out of the blue about a year now. knowing he is gone it's nothing I can do." She looked at me with hurt in her eyes."I'm so sorry that happened but I do want to know what happened I'm off the clock now so we can walk across the street to the cafe for some coffee." I agreed so we both headed to the cafe.
