Tony’s POV

“Tony, for only a week or so she is showing great progress. Her deeper bruises are already fading and her bones have set, yet they are not completely healed. They are still weak, but it is very promising,” Doc smiled at me hopefully and then turned back to Dawn and continued to check her wounds.

“Are her eyes open, Doc?” I asked as I stood at the end of the bed with my arms crossed.

“Well, no but . . .”

“Is she showing any signs of consciousness?” I asked more plainly.

“No, but, Tony . . .”

“Then that is not great progress,” I growled and walked to the balcony and looked over the training yard were Travis was working with His father training the younger pups.

“Tony, don’t give up hope . . .”

“Doc, I’m not giving up hope,” I turned to him. “I’m just irritated. My dad has begun to step down. I feel it now and I feel when I am talking to him. He is giving power over to me. He will not use the Alpha tone on me and he won’t look me in the eye any more. Him finding out that my mom is pregnant was is sign that it is my time to be Alpha. I need to be with my people. I need to reassure them that I am mentally able to be there for them,” I sighed and walked back to Dawn.

“They know this. I know this. Tony, you have shown more Alpha traits then your father ever did at your age,” Doc smiled.

“At my age my father already had a mate an heir and a major battle under his belt. He saved our people and the vampires from the Hunters, at my age. And you are telling me I am more Alpha than he is?” I scoffed and looked over Dawn.

“Stop being so hard on yourself, Tony. You are forgetting that is only after his father died forcing him to become Alpha. Until days before then he was an arrogant, spoiled brat,” Doc shook his head.

I laughed, “That’s hard to see.”

“It was your mother who made him the way he is today. That is all you are lacking. A strong mate,” He patted the bed beside Dawn. “When she wakes up, you will tell her everything, you will claim her and then you will become the Alpha you need to be. Have faith in yourself, Tony. Everyone else does,” He smiled.

“Thanks, Doc,” I nodded. “I will call you up if there is any change.”

“Alright, Stay strong,” He nodded and then walked out.

Just as it was about to close it was push open and a sweaty Travis barged in with a few of the strong, younger fighters.

“Hey, guys,” I smiled at them.

“Hey, Tony,” Travis walked in.
