a new girl walked in. she had brown hair that swiftly swayed past her shoulders. she came and sat next to me, at the back of the class. i asked her what her name was. she didn't say a word.
"are you ignoring me on purpose?"
nothing.
"is anybody there?" i waved my hand.
nothing.
i tapped her on the shoulder. she jumped.
"hello?"
i started to get angry.
"why aren't you talking to me?" i yelled. she flinched. "are you deaf or something?"
and then i realised.
