Chapter two: Shay saves Conner

Jess couldn’t get hold of Abby and Conner for some reason through the ear piece so she tried Matt instead.

‘Matt are you there?’ she asked.

‘I am here with Emily we found the anomaly and are about to secure it’ said Matt.

‘That is good but I cannot get hold of Abby or Conner’ said Jess worried.

‘They can look after themselves but we will try and find them. We lost one of our guns we have to try find it’ said Matt.

 Abby and Conner had run after Shay knowing they needed to get that gun back. But as they reached the sports hall they came across trouble.

Shay was fighting of a couple of the dinosaurs and so was Captain Becker.

‘Abby, Conner it’s great to see you. This kid is actually pretty good at this’ smiled Captain Becker as he continued to fight the dinosaurs off.

‘He shouldn’t be helping us at all’ said Abby.

‘Too late for that now’ said Captain Becker.

‘Where are Emily and Matt’ asked Conner.

‘Not sure we split up’ said Captain Becker.

As Conner went to move a dinosaur charged at him but Shay got in the way and he was flung across the floor and was knocked out.

Conner ran quickly over to him holding his head which was now bleeding.

‘We need to get him help’ said Conner.

‘My ear piece is not working’ said Abby as she shot the dinosaur that hurt the boy.

‘We will have to get him to the car but we need to find Matt and Emily too’ said Captain Becker as he shot the last dinosaur and it hit the ground.

Abby and Conner were  back at their own flat eating dinner.

‘I don’t understand why we have to take him in’ said Abby as she ate a piece of her bread.

‘We have the biggest flat with a spare room it will not be for long hopefully. At least till he is better and then we can get him back home’ said Conner.

‘It better be. We have a wedding to plan still’ said Abby as she began to eat her dinner properly.

‘i love you’ said Conner trying to lighten the mood.

‘I love you too Conner. Now you eat your food too before it goes cold’ smiled Abby.

Captain Becker was waiting for Jess to finish up. He had managed to ask her out on a date and she had accepted.

He had already gone home and changed into something a little more smart and was waiting for her now out in his car.

As he began to wonder why she was taking so long he spotted her come into the car park. 

Maybe this would be his lucky night.

Shay felt terrible when he woke up in some strange bedroom in this very soft bed. 

Shay was stronger than most teenagers and different. He had never liked school. He pretty much hated it. He bunked whenever he could.

Shay wanted to leave school and maybe find a job but that would be hard since more people are losing their jobs and a lot of people apply for only one job.

Shay sat up in the bed and heard voices from behind the door. He felt terrible and he knew there was no way he be able to get out of this bed but he felt so hungry.

Shay tried to maybe get someone’s attention from the other room but it was more difficult than he thought.

In the end he decided to call out, ‘Is someone there?’

Movement seemed to spring to life and a moment later the door opened to reveal that man who he had tried to save.

‘It’s good to see you awake how are you feeling?’ he asked as he closed the door behind him.

‘Terrible to be honest but I am quite hungry too’ said Shay.

‘I’ll get you something to eat then. Oh and thank you for jumping in the way but it was very foolish thing to do. I’m trained for those short of thing you’re not. I’m Conner by the way’ said Conner before he left the room once again.

Jess found it odd going on a date with Captain Becker but it was clear she had feelings for him and she didn’t wish to ignore them anymore.

Jess didn’t regret it either she had a wonderful night and somehow they got back to her flat but Captain Becker never left that night.
