I woke up without the aid of my alarm this morning which was surprising considering the busy weekend I'd had! The date with Marshall on Saturday had been amazing and couldn't have been more perfect.

We'd curled up and gone to sleep together that night and I remember waking up on Sunday morning to beams of light streaming through a gap in the curtains, but, no Marshall. Concerned, I propped myself up and my eyes searched rapidly around the room. I reached for my phone on my bedside table and noticed a small piece of paper folded on top of it. It was from Marshall.

"Sorry but I had to leave Athena, you must be tired and I wanted you to rest. I'm sure we'll speak again soon and I can come to pick you up on Monday. Ps. I ordered you some breakfast – Marshall x"

I focused back on the day ahead and ran over plans. Whilst rummaging through my clothes yesterday afternoon, I had discovered a pair of midnight blue shoes I didn't know I packed. They were just my style and I had an urge to wear them. I was soon dressed in a black pencil skirt and a blouse that matched the colour of my shoes. I strode out of my hotel room after gathering my things and caught the bus to work.

Once inside the building, I confided myself to my own private office, there was a brief just before lunch. I poked my head out into the main corridor in the hope to catch someone who could run to the printer for me to collect my schedule, I had been given stacks of papers to read through on my way in and I needed every moment I had to process it all.

I did manage to flag someone down eventually and within minutes I was flicking through the week's plans. This morning's brief was just a general catch-up for everyone. I sighed with relief; I had found it difficult on what further moves to make with commercial planning when I was unaware of everyone else's plans. I couldn't deal with disorganisation.

I sat and listened intently throughout the morning brief. Taking notes and trying to absorb the words being thrown at me and hour or so later everyone rose from their seats, collected their own papers and swiftly left to tackle their own contribution the project. I rose from my own seat rubbing my forehead and headed off to my own office.

As I went to open the door I noticed the door was slightly a jar and I definitely recall locking it. I proceeded into my small study area; the papers on my desk were undisturbed, as my eyes briefly scanned the rest of the room, the large leather swivel chair turned round rather ominously.

My brows furrowed and then a familiar face looked at my own. Tanya. She sat and looked smug, her grin like a Cheshire Cat's, she raised her legs and slowly lowered her feet to rest on the table.

“You okay Tanya?" I questioned trying to keep my tone even.

 "Oh nothing" she responded slyly.

"I need you out, so I can get on with my work, please. What do you think you’re doing here anyway?"

She laughed lightly to herself. "The same could be said about you! What do you think you're doing and why the rush to get me out of your office? Got a special visitor coming round?"

I was now frozen to the spot. I knew she would be talking about Marshall, I could tell from the way her voice dripped poison. My mind flashed back to myself and Marshall’s very first fuck right here in my office... Oh god. No! She couldn't have found out about that! I felt the panic rise from deep within me.

"Why so scared Miss Greystone? You made a public enough display of yourself, someone was bound to notice. The one thing you must learn about working in an office is that there will always be someone watching your every move" Tanya spoke the last five words slowly and made emphasis on the ‘every’.

"I have no idea what you are talking about Tanya, please excuse me. I have paperwork to get through," I said as calmly as I could.

"You really shouldn't become involved with people who are out of your league," was she talking about Marshall still, or was she threatening my position?

"Tanya, go, now! I won't ask again I would like you to leave!"

She didn't utter another word until she was out of the door and even then she flashed an evil smile and flicked a chunk of her sickly blonde hair over her shoulder as she clicked her heels. I sat at my desk in shock, drumming my finger on the desk. She couldn't have seen me and Marshall during our romp in the office, the blinds were drawn. She couldn't have heard us, I knew for a fact and we had been quiet about it. What was she talking about?

My mind was racing, I texted Marshall, I explained everything. I think he could tell how worried I was and insisted I called him next time Tanya had me cornered.

My thoughts were taken away from the confrontation as I spent what was left of my lunch break working on the papers and this lasted until I called Marshall at around 6:30 to pick me up. The daylight hours were getting longer and now we were a couple I didn't mind him picking me up as much.
