*three hours later Marsha's phone is ringing. Gordon is calling. She ignored it and glares at her phone. The phone stops ringing but after a while the notification comes up that she had received a voice mail. Although she doesn't want to open it, with a sigh she does just that*

"Marsha. Okay. How do I say this. Well" he pauses with a shaky breath " There's this poem that a friend of mine wrote...about a little boy that had a dog..but he wanted a frog. This isn't making mush sense. Well. Uh. His dad told him no. His brother slammed the door in his face and uh his mother hugged him-fuck. Should I continue? Maybe I shouldn't. But I should anyways right? Right.- Anyways what I'm basically saying is that uh.... His mom told him that he didn't need a frog cause dogs could do more- well except for jump. His dog couldn't jump. That's why he wanted a uhm frog. He wanted a pet that could jump. Whatever but. His mom told him he could uh. He could teach the dog how to jump and do whatever else frogs do. So the dog could be like a super frog. Dogs can't be frogs in reality but I'm just metaphorically speaking.....I- I'm not a dog neither or you- but in this context I am and you're the little boy. I'm not saying your a boy but" he pauses again to groan " Look what I'm trying to fucking say is that baby I'm sorry okay? I know I'm a sick and twisted bastard and I'm also a dick but I don't mean to hurt you. I suck at relationships so it's pretty dumb that I asked you to be in one with me but I don't regret it! What that stupid poem was about is that I know I can do many things for you but it's hard to not hurt you and you might want to be with someone else who doesn't cause as much problems and loves you way better but I want you so could you atleast teach me what to say? Teach me what to do so I don't end losing one of the best girls in the world." With another sigh " Please baby. I'm sorry".

She cried.

Long and harder than she ever had because she didn't expect him to say anything like that.
