"Hey Marsh. Uh..your phone is ringing" Ed said ducking from inside the refrigerator with Marsha's phone and before he could look at the contact she tore the phone from his grasp and began to walk away with the phone.

Ed just happened to be the guy throwing the party last night and they might have hooked up after they talked over a couple rounds.

"Gordon?"

"No sweetie. Who's Gordon though?"she heard her mother say over the phone when she grabbed an apple from on top of the kitchen's counter.

Marsha groaned in annoyance then huffed "Nobody. Hey mom. What's up?" as she plopped down on the couch in her living room and changed the channel from E!news to criminal minds. She took a bite from her apple as she looked on the television.

"Oh nothing dear. Just about to drop by your place with your dad"she heard her mother say and she spat out the apple in shock.

"What?!"

"What what? Can't I come?"

"No!!" she yelled looking around to Ed who was still rummaging through the kitchen almost naked .

"Why? Is there someone there?"

" no!.............the place is messy" she lied then made a gesture letting Ed know to get dress and he grumbled in annoyance as he made his way to her room.

"Honey. You've lived with us for 17 years. I think I'm already used to that"

" But.... You still can't come!"

" Too late. I'm already five minutes away. See ya" her mother said sweetly before she hung up and Marsha swore loudly in annoyance.

Just as she was about to rush Ed again her phone rang and she answered sharply without looking at the contact.

" What!"

"....oh sorry. I can uh. Call again"

"Gordon?" she said in a softer tone with her stomach in knots and he sighed.

"Can we talk later. "

" uh.....I dunno-"

"Please" he said cutting her off and she took in a sharp breath the shifted her weight on her feet as she watched Ed come in buttoning his shirt.

He looked good. But she realized she'd  never feel the need for anyone except for the person that was on the phone with her.

" Ok"  She said and he sighed in relief then muttered "okay thanks. Bye".

"Yeah" she replied then hung up and looked on the phone with a small smile.

" who's got you smiling like that?" Ed asked with a smirk and just remembering that he was there she scowled then said " Don't worry about that. Just get out while you still have a chance"

He chuckled and shook his head as she followed him to the door and once she opened the door she saw two familiar faces and paled.

"Marsha!" Her mother saw engulfing her in a hug and her eyes widened as she noticed how her father was eyeing Ed.

"The hell is he?"
