Jake POV

Jake walked five feet away from his dad's Mercedes before he realised he left his wallet in the back seat. His feet were throbbing from all the dance moves he had just displayed in front of most of the school.

The cheerleaders had stood and watched mouths ajar and he hadn't felt more proud of his good physique. God, it was great to be a god.

Of course, Jamie Winters had only thrown the party for him. He was the main attraction. The famous Jake Foster could pull a crowd together with a snap of his fingers. Jake had only seen it fit to give everyone the show they had all been waiting for.

That is why at four a.m he stands drunk and dazed five feet away from his dad's Mercedes. Wondering whether he should just leave his wallet in the backseat or go to bed. In the end, it wasn't much of a choice.

He carried on, half stumbling - half walking. Dragging his feet as he proceeded up the staircase and into his bedroom. Realising, only after he ripped his shirt off and collapsed face flat on to his bed, that he hadn't locked the front door.

It was then that his phone pinged with a new message. He lifted his head, surprised that it was still on. He unlocked his phone and read the first text out of the many that popped up.

"Hi honey, I lost you tonight. Wanna have breakfast at Denny's tomorrow ? I miss you. XXX"

Jake smirked at that. Stacy always pretended she was cool with dating him. However, he knew all too well that she fangirled as hard as the rest of them.

"Sure, babe ;)"

That would be enough to settle her tonight he thought. He found that he could tolerate her mostly because she had a hot body. He could stare at her all day. However, recently he hasn't been feeling her up as much as he'd like to. He had no idea whether he was losing interest or if she was losing her touch. He just knew that he could barely tolerate 10 minutes of her mindless chatter.

He didn't give Stacy anymore thought for the rest of the night. Eventually, his exhaustion swallowed him up and he passed out with the moon shining through his curtains.
