Stacy sits at Denny's diner in the corner booth; their usual spot. She's already ordered a soy latte to keep her warm. He's late. Half an hour late. She'd already texted him three times. No answer. It wasn't like him. She watches the door like a hawk and sips from her cup disdainfully.

The door opens and the little bell rings. Amanda and Chloe walk in, fresh as a breeze. They instantly notice Stacy's expression and adjust accordingly. Their heels click and clack in unison as they approach her. As soon as they're a foot away she begins ranting about how she's never had to wait on anyone in her whole life and Jake better be dead in a ditch somewhere or else.

Just as the words leave her mouth Jake swerves his corvette into a random parking spot. He walks briskly across the parking lot. He swings the door open and lowers his hoodie.

The girls already aware of the situation scurry off.

Jake slides into the booth. Stacy stares daggers across the table at him but he doesn't seem to notice. Her arms are folded across her chest. "You're late" she says matter of factly "Is that so.." Jake replies amused. "You disappeared last night. You walk in here half an hour late. You don't text or call. You don't even bother to greet me! What's wrong with you ?!"
People from the surrounding tables begin to look in their direction. Jake takes a long look at her and grits out between his teeth "You wanna know what's wrong with me? You. You are what's wrong with me. I'm done and this is over." Fear grips Stacy and she feels confused and in shock. "W-w-what are you saying?" she whispers "I'm breaking up with you!" Jake yells at her and the diner grows quiet. He gets up and walks out, slamming the door. Stacy and everyone else in the diner watches as he gets into his car and revs the engine, speeding off.

Stacy looks to Amanda and Chloe. Her mouth opening and closing in confusion. Her eyes glass over and she finally begins sobbing.

The diner is still quiet. Everyone seems taken aback by Jake's behavior. There he was, the town's all American star football captain. Screaming at the girl everyone thought he loved and then speeding off like hell on wheels.  No one had a clue what they had just witnessed but they all knew that this wouldn't be the last they'd seen of Jake's newfound temper.
