MALI woke up on the floor, dried tear stains along my cheeks. No one was around me, I was alone.
My eyes scavenged the room trying to create an escape plan.My gaze landed on the corner of the room. My spell book. I bolted to it and opened it.
I flipped through the pages and found one for electricity. There was a dead phone on one of the tables so I grabbed it."Like the static from socks, give this phone a shock." I swished my hand in the air, and the phone turned on. There was one bar of signal, so I kept walking around the dark room, looking for more.
Once I had four bars I quickly dialled Ben's number. After a few rings, he picked up.
"Hello?" He said groggily.
"Ben?" I croaked into the phone.
"MAL? I-is it you? How are you? Are you hurt?" He said in one breath. I exhaled and smiled slightly.
"I-I'm fine. Please come here. I-I need you." My voice cracked.
"Where are you?" Before I could answer, the doors downstairs unlocked and opened, meaning mother was here.
"The tower, Ben, the tower hidden in trees. I have to go now, I-I love you."
"I lov-" I hung up and crawled back to where I was and feigned sleep.
"She's still sleeping? What a lazy girl." I could practically feel mother's scowl.
"So what are we going to do to... Wren?" Diablo stated, getting Ben's name wrong.
"Well, why don't we lure him into coming here." My mother said in a wicked tone.
"And how do you suggest we do that?"
"One word. Mal." I could practically feel mother's smirk.
"Wake up you little brat." She nudged me, pushing me out of my fake sleep.
"What do you want mother?" I stated shakily, acting like I hadn't heard anything she stated.
"Oh just you wait.... my dear."
BEN
"Aha!" Carlos proclaimed, "I found her. Well not exactly her, but he towe-"
"How do you know that's the tower?" Evie asked, interrupting what would've been a long babble from Carlos.
"Well, you know that time when Mal was really sleepy and told us stuff?" We all nodded.
Well, she said, "My mom is weird. She has this really tall tower with a pointy top and vines all around it. Though she never uses it." He said mimicking a stereotypical girl's voice.
"Yeah and? Aren't most towers pointy and viney?" Jay asked.
"I searched around for all the towers in Auradon and the isle. They're either not pointy, not viney, or pink."
"Do you know where this is located?" I asked him. He started playing around with it looking for the exact location when something weird popped up on the screen.
Carlos clicked on it and it was a video call from an anonymous username. It was pitch black and there was only a deep voice.
"Everyone must leave this room except for Len."
"His name is Ben you stupid bird." A familiar voice stated.
"Why?" Evie asked, looking too lazy to stand up and leave.
"If you ever want to see your purple haired friend again. I suggest you listen to me." The deep voice was back.
They all nodded and left. The screen brightened a bit; just enough for me to make out small details.
Suddenly, a girl looking terrified appeared. It was Mal. Her eyes looked tired, and her mouth was taped shut,
"MAL!" I screamed at the computer. Mal struggled but it was no use. Then, the creepy voice muttered,
"Come to the lake of enchanted waters, If you ever want to see Maleficent's daughter. Come alone however, or we'll turn you into stone."
Mal started shaking her head violently in protest.
"I'll do it." I grabbed my coat, and headed to the lake.
