Sorry you guys for the late update. I've actually been busy this weekend and have been doing a lot of things. Also still my sleep schedule is officially D.E.D dead and so I'm going to try and sleep early tonight. 😔 See you guys next chapter bye 👋🏻.
Also I'm going to change the cover of this book since I'm not feeling it- since ironically I drew it. Well tell me what you guys think of it compared to the old one :)

P.S I've created a new Oneshot so go and check it out when you can 😊

Why is it so easy for us to remember the bad memories instead of the good? Is it just because they are there taunting us at every turn? Or the fact that they can break us more easily as good ones could rebuild us.

Flashback

I was 7 years old when I was kidnapped as I was walking home from school. A black van had driven to my side and pulled me in, they bound me and stuck a needle in my neck to make me sleep. When I came too I was in a dirty smelly old metal room and on the other side of the room was a teenage girl. She wore a ripped shirt, skirt, black sun glasses, and was bare footed.

"Hello?" She called to me quietly, "I'm not gonna hurt you."

"S-s-stay way." I stammered but she still came over to me and engulfed me into a motherly hug

"It's okay." She whispered and patted my back, "I'm a prisoner too."

"H-H-how long have you been here for?" I asked her

"I can't see at all. . ." She replied, "But all I know is that the sun has passed though that window-" she points up to the one high above us "- 14 times. So I've been here for about 2 weeks."

I felt hot tears roll down my cheeks as I cried harder, "It's okay." She whispered as she started to run circles on my back, "It's not that bad. . . They'll give us food and water at least and bathroom breaks. Maybe if we're lucky they can give us a story book for us to read."

I looked up at her my vision blurry as I saw her give a warm smile, "R-really?"

She nodded, "I give my angels word. Now tell me little man, what is your name?"

"My name is Lachlan Power." I replied

"Well Lach, you may call me Ghost."

For the next several weeks, they gave us food and water at the same time of day. Ghost was right they gave us 'Finding Nemo' to read. She would teach me to read it all on my own, but she was still reading it to me. But I did notice something, Ghost look really sick and I was starting to get sick too.

"We can't eat the food anymore." She told me one day after we got breakfast

"W-why?" I asked her

"You know how we're both getting sick? It's because they're putting something inside it."

"What is it?" I looked horrified at the food on the tray

"Something that tastes like metal. . ." She went to her corner came back with 2 apples, "These are good apples they don't have nothing in them."

"Where did you get these?!" I asked her excitedly as I bounced up and down

"Well there are a few birds that come by with food." She giggled, "Like in Snow White when the animals help her." I giggled as well

Quickly he ate the apples and threw them out the window. After eating them I felt better. Not a moment later 2 men walked in with a mask but the eye part was purple. They grabbed both of us, and they carried us to down the hall. At the end of the hall was a large metal room with rusty chains everywhere. Honestly the room looks more comfortable this one. They threw us down on the floor, but Ghost quickly crawled over to me and asked if I was okay.

"Isn't that touching?"

We both looked to see a man, just like the rest wore a mask and black clothing, however there was seven guys behind him holding guns. They were standing on the second floor of the giant room, and the two guys walked to them. She brought me closer to her,

"If you hurt him-!" She growled toward them in a animalistic tone

"That's our Boss' job, besides he won't mind a few bullets though." The men clicked their guns and a red tracer lights pointed at us. But the man signaled them to stop and they lowered their weapons.

"Well tell that Asshat to leave us be!" Ghost yelled at the top of her lungs. I looked up at her and my mouth dropped- it was my first time hearing a swear word, "Sorry." She mumbled to me

Quickly looking back up at the man he pulled out a metal lighter and flicked the switch. "You should really put that mouth to good use then when you meet him. . . Men roll out." He let go of the lighter and I watched it fall to the floor.

The floor went up in fire as it surrounded us, quickly she covered me for the heat of the roaring flames. "Don't worry we'll get out of here!" She told me as I was soon on her back as she ran through the flames. I clung to her like a baby Koala with their mom, "LOOK OUT!" She threw me to the far side of the room as the ceiling gave in and fell on top of her.

"Ghost!" I yelled and ran back to her only to find the pile of rubble reviling half body that was not crushed. She looked up at me and smiled as I felt tears stream down my face, "C'mon Ghost! We need to leave!" I yelled but coughed to her

"No. . . You need to. . .Leave." She struggled to breath from the smoke building up in the room

"I'm not leaving without you." I told her as I tired to move everything off of her but the fire kept whipping at me, "You're going to be fine!"

She smiled with her last dying breath she touched my cheek, "I'll see you soon Lach. . . save that determination for the one you love most. . ." Her hand fell to the ground as she went limp

I stayed there like an idiot and cried even when the firefighters came for us not a moment later.

"I won't forget you Ghost. . ."

End of Flashback

*~ Toni's P.O.V ~*

The memory replayed over and over again. Lachlan's screams and cries filled my ears.
What happened next felt like a blur. Fire coming from my body.
Rushing toward their father.
The axe heavy in my hand.
And his head resting in my hands as I sat there on the scorched grass.
Soon it disintegrated into black ooze.
A smile plastered on my face as hot tears burn my eyes.

"There will always be justice for the wicked and sorrow for the good. . ."
