This isn't your life

Minister brought me and my parents up to his office and I had a bad feeling about this. They're going to try to plan out my life since I was already 16 years old, and this happens to all girls when they end up in the "office." I am never going to abide by his rules it's just not fair. Jacelyn came up here a few weeks ago and look what happen, she has her life planned out.

" Take a seat Ms. Rose." Minister pointed to a chair in front of his desk and my parents sat on the couch behind the chair.

" So I am appalled by what your family told me about your future and plans Ms. Rose." Minister basically stared at me and I was creeped out.

" What business is it of yours anyways, father?" I retorted.

" I am everyone in towns life coach, I tell them their futures and they abide by them." he glared at me.

" Who says I am going to follow that, you people can't control grown people. They get to decide their lives, who they want to marry, if they want kids, or if they want to leave Cambridge." I said bluntly.

" Ahh, Ms. Rose let's see what your future holds." he said looking at a big book like it was magical. Then the book started to glow, what the hell? I thought to myself we didn't live in magic Ville. My parents actually looked excited about this like they've seen this before. My mother smiled at me like it was my wedding day.

" So, you probably are confused, but I have a physic power very little, but I plan out people's lives with what this book tells me." Minster said staring intently at the book.

" Yea right it also helps with people's choices too." I said smugly.

" Ms. Rose, here is your life, you will marry Lyell Kingspur when you are 21 and have three kids, 2 boys and 1 girl. You will live outside of town and you will become an elementary teacher and make a stable living. You will stay here and fulfill your church duties and become an active member of the community." he said smugly.

" In your dreams, old man!" with that I stormed out of his office and bumped right into someone. I fell to the ground with a thud. My bag fell to the ground and all of its contents spilled out. The someone knelt down and handed me my tampons and I muttered a thanks. I had my lip gloss, tampons, mirror, wallet, cards, and my keys covering the ground. I was mortified.

" Sir, you need to watch where you are going next time." I yelled.

" Well if it wasn't for you and your nose stuck in that phone we wouldn't have had this problem." the guy sounded young.

" Well excuse me for having a life outside the church and this stupid town. And you have no authority over me, mister I'm to cool for this town." I sneered.

" You're a little brat and you probably get everything that you want. Well I just moved here and I didn't want to deal with rude kids today." he replied.

" Please if you just moved here you better get out now because they won't let you leave. I feel bad for you and your little town dreams because little towns are nightmares." I said.

" What are you like 10 years old?" he asked.

" You are an asshole." I stormed away from him too.

I decided to walk home, which in my case was not a good decision. It started to rain after the first 10 minutes home and me being stubborn would not answer my parents call. I'm sick and tired of everyone telling me how I should live MY life. To top it all off that guy was such an ass. Where does he think he has the authority to tell me what I know and don't. You guys think I am some crazy bitch, but if you lived in this town you'd be the same.

" Court, get in the car." Jace yelled at me from the passenger window.

" I really just want to walk." I said.

" In the rain? You must be crazy, come in and we're going out of town." she said.

" Out of town?" this got me intrigued.

" Yes, we are going to the mall and then to the SAM'S SMOOTHIE SHACK!" Jace said with a smile and her eyebrows raised.

" Okay fine, but I am driving!" I said to Halley.

Halley sat in the backseat because they knew when I was mad I liked to either walk or drive so I ended up in the front seat. We went to the state border and was over to the Virginia side in about an hour or so. Unfortunately it was Sunday so we couldn't stay over night. We went to the Stony Point Fashion Park and thank the good lord I had my wallet with me.

" Court, don't you think you should tell your parents that we are in Virginia?" Halley asked me.

" I suppose. I have a feeling that we are just going to skip school tomorrow anyways." I shrugged

" I don't know about that because we have already missed like the entire first week of school." Jace said.

" Who cares we aren't learning anything new." I shrugged yet again.

" Call your parents and let them know we are out of state and see what they say." Halley said.

I dialed my parents number from a payphone because I didn't want to waste my phone battery. I just knew that my father was going to be pissed. Ready in 3, 2, 1....

" COURTLYN ROSE, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" my father screamed.

" I'm in Virginia at the mall with Jace and Halley." I said very calmly.

" WHY ARE YOU THERE. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT AND IT'S SUNDAY, YOU GET YOUR ASS RIGHT BACK TO KENTUCKY RIGHT NOW!" he boomed.

" No, I'm going to stay here and cool down. I'm ticked off and I don't want to be in that town right now." I said cool.

" DO YOU WANNA BE ON PUNISHMENT THEN STAY, BUT YOU HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE TO COME BACK. EVEN YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND JUST CAME TO TOWN." he bellowed.

" Why don't you cool down to and I will see you tomorrow.' I said.

" Okay Miss Rose, I will see you tomorrow." he said.

" Thank you dad, I love you!" I said.

" I love you too and be safe." he said before hanging up.

" You have such a way with your dad, Court." Halley said.

" It's magic!" I said.

" Let's go find a hotel first and then come back to the mall!" Jace said.
