*Caroline's POV*
Loud music blared in my ears.
"Stefan! Turn it down!" I yelled.
"Make me"
I gave him a death glare and he soon turned down the volume to an appropriate level.
"I'm sorry, I'm just tired from planning Prom,
My name is Caroline Forbes. I live in a small town in Virginia by the name of Mystic Falls. Stefan is my best friend and always will be. We're only friends.
As me and Stefan started planning out summer I had a great idea of an awesome trip we'd never forget.
"So Stefan, what's the plan for this summer?!"
"Oh come on Care, we got out of school today. Give me some time." He chuckled.
"We need to plan! Come on give me some ideas."
"Fine, how about the boardwalk? Or the beach. And maybe we can even go to the water park!"
Stefan loved the water park and went every summer at least once every two weeks.
I replied, "Maybe we can go road tripping? Lets go to New York! It's only a six hour drive and we'll have so much fun! Pleaseeeee!!!!!"
Stefan gave me a look that said "Seriously"
"Please Stefan well have so much fun!"
"Fine, we'll go road tripping."
He smiled and I smiled back.
"Yayyy! New York he we come!"
I'd never been out of this lousy town, and I was ready to get the hell out! And who better to experience this amazing trip with than my best friend , Stefan?
"We're going to have so much fun!" I screamed.
He smiled and laughed, "Caroline Forbes you are the only person who can make me do the most ridiculous things. You're the only person that makes me want to laugh till I cry and smile till it hurts. You're the greatest friend somebody could have, and I love you."
"I love you too Stefan-"
I was cut off by Stefan lifting up my chin and slowly moving towards my face.
"I love YOU, Caroline."
I closed my eyes waiting for the money his lips would touch mine....but it never came.
I opened my eyes to see Stefan in the same position he was when I had my eyes open. He slowly pulled away.
"I'm sorry, Caroline."
"I understand, Stefan."
But I didn't. What was that?! Lead me on than pull away? What a jerk!
"Stefan, maybe I should leave-"
"No Caroline please-"
"Stefan."
The door was open and there was a fire consuming the house as a whole.
I turned around to see Stefan in shock with eyes open wide.
He grabbed my hand and started running.
This is the end I thought. But it was only the beginning...
*Klaus's POV*
I looked down at my watch and read 12:34.
