You're sitting in your room, finishing up some homework-or staring out your window, dreading the thought of having to do it, whichever term you prefer to use-when a flash of blue flies across your vision, breaking your train of thought. You look up, out the window in front of you, but you see nothing. You stare suspiciously out the window for a few minutes, in case whatever had caused the glare of blue happened again, but nothing happens. Because of this, you figure the obvious logic thing to do is to go back to your homework and stop glaring out your window like a crazy person, but your stare still lingers a while longer before you actually do get back to your homework.
The incident reminds you of something important, but you can't quite put your finger on it. Like you should be taking note of it, or it's linked to something you should be excited for, but your mind is too strained from the problems that were laid out in front of you that the feeling is pushed away almost instantaneously.A few minutes later, you finish the daily dreadful questions and answers, quite begrudgingly, and stuff it into your binder. "Two more days...." you mumble to yourself as you stand from your desk. That's how many days till school gets out. Two more days and you're still getting homework. What a bust.
Your brain feels fired, and you're pretty sure you'll be seeing x's and y's in the corners of your eyes for days, so to clear your mind you stretch out your cramped arms and legs before heading outside your house for some fresh air. The sun is shining brighter than ever in the flawless bright blue sky and despite the heated weather closing in, the crisp cool spring breeze still lingers. The trees that surrounded you grew tall and proud and the grass was crisp and green.
You walk down the usual trail in the woods outside your house, and look around. No matter what weather or season it was, the forest never failed when it came to scenery. In the winter it was covered in snow, and felt contrasting and bright, but also cold and dark. In the fall, it looked as if the trees would catch on fire with all the color-changing leaves. In the spring, it was definitely warm and welcome with the beautifully colored flowers and the tall green trees. Summer was best, looking a thousand times more colorful than Spring.
A loud snoring breaks your train of thought. You freeze mid-step and cautiously turn to the noise, to find a blue... thing sleeping against a nearby tree. It is blue all over except for its tan muzzle, arms and stomach. Its eyes are huge and almost appear to be connected, also blue because of its shut eyelids that matched the rest of its fur. A pair of white gloves rested on each of its large hands, and a pair of shiny red shoes with white strips and golden shoe buckles are on each foot. Both its socks and gloves have cuffs at the end. It looks familiar, but you can't put your finger on it. You walk up to it and conclude that it's a "he" from the masculine-sounding voice coming out underneath his distinctive snoring.
You sit down next to him and take in his odd features. He's so peaceful-looking. You're not sure why you had this urge, but suddenly your hand moves up and gently, you begin to stroke his fur on the giant spines on his head.
He reacts almost like a cat to the motion with a sound that resembled purring and a slight leaning into the hand, and you begin to pet him rhythmically and without thought, like you would to a pet. Forget almost completely about what you're petting, or that fact that it could wake up at any moment to you caressing its head, you look away to admire what you can see from the spot where you sit. You're almost completely lost in a daydream, about to turn back to the creature you sat next to, until a hand grasped your wrist. You are caught by surpise and whip your head around to find yourself eye-to-eye with a pair of emerald green irises filled with curiosity.
The blue figure is staring right at you, and you don't know if you've ever felt more terrified than in that split second.
"Who are you?" he asks, tilting his head and keeping a grip on your wrist.
You try and stutter out your name, but words fail you and you can only wonder how this unearthly creature speaks your very earthly language. Hearing his voice clearer now, you're sure it's a male.
"Nice name," he remarks sarcastically with a smile and releases your hand. Standing up, the blue creature dusts himself off and starts to walk away. You snap out of your shock, quickly get up, and start after him. "Hey! I-I never got your name!"
He turns around and smirks. "Its Sonic. The Hedgehog." And right there, instantly something clicked in your mind. Sonic the hedgehog. The character you'd been hearing about for the past 5 months when they'd found the Tornado X in the sea. It was s huge event and was on the news for weeks, and even after all the e=searching they did, they couldn't find the two passengers. Evidence led the authorities to believe it was a blue anthromorphic hedgehog and a yellow fox. Everyone thought the passengers had drowned, but you had a feeling that they didn't.
"Is the fox with you?" you cautiously asked, hoping you wouldn't tip him off to the fact you saw him on the news and run away. Instead, though, Sonic's small triangular ears perked at the mention of his best friend. His reply was a nod, and without warning he grabbed your wrist again, leading (more like dragging) you through the forest as he ran at tremendous speeds. He was taking you somewhere, and all you had left to do was find out.

Hi. Chapter one is edited, the plot will have a lot more substance and certain chapters will be condensed and deleted so the story doesn't have too many chapters but not enough content to sustain each one. I tried to fix grammatical and spelling mistakes, but if you see any, please point them out. It'd be a big help
