Two weeks off from work sounded great, and it was great while it lasted. I worked at my Uncle's office and still earned some money, and I visited my parents twice during the time. Kaden spent his nights at my apartment quite often, probably four out of seven nights. It didn't bother me much since he didn't demand for food and got it himself rather than yelling at me for it.
However, the two weeks practically flew past. We'd still been busy - me at the offices and Before Misery at different bars or clubs playing all around Leeds and even York, since the city wasn't too far away.
Today had been the Reading Festival where the band played mere an hour long show, just before Set It Off were playing. I'd thoroughly enjoyed the festivities but I wasn't able to see all the acts I wanted to see at the festival, so I decided I went to see the bands the next day as well. We had the whole day off, apart from a signing session and a show.
Later in the night we arrived back in Leeds since the festival was held just a half an hour drive away, in Bramham Park. We hadn't stayed to see the main act of the night because the band had to be up early the next morning and run some errands before the festival performance.
I was staying the night at Kaden's parents house with him because we wouldn't have to do so much driving from one side of the city to another to pick up everyone. I and Kaden, however, were going by my car and he had put all of his equipment in my car, except for his amp.
The clock showed past nine when we were back in his house and watching some documentary on my TV in the lounge. Kaden's parents weren't home, hence why he invited me over for the night. Well, Kaden was while I was reading through my social media feeds, seeing if there was anything interesting happening around the world and with my friends.
I was chatting to Holden, Arizona and Leigh on my Facebook chat at the same time as going through different tags on Twitter, mainly seeing what people thought of Before Misery's performance in Reading.
That was when my eyes caught a photo that I wish I wouldn't have seen.
I could clearly make out Kaden's face in it, and a girl with strawberry blonde hair. They were lip locking in the middle of a street in Cardiff. Kaden didn't look different to what he looked like now, so I figured it hadn't been longer than a year that this photo had been taken. The sun was lighting up their faces, Kaden had his hold close on the girl, making me want to hurl.
There was a caption on the photo, uploaded just minutes ago:
Kaden Haymes and his lady friend, 26.07.2016. Cardiff, UK
Cardiff? Fucking Cardiff. That was the day I'd stayed in because of a headache and Kaden had gone out for lunch, claiming that he'd gone with the band. It seemed around lunch time, the photo. I couldn't remember what Kaden had worn that day but it was likely that he was wearing the same outfit since he'd had the same T-shirt, his leather jacket and a pair of black skinny jeans torn at the knees, with him on tour.
I let out a sniffle, feeling anger building up inside me. I couldn't believe what I'd seen. I couldn't believe that Kaden would lie to me and actually go on a date with another girl, kiss another girl? He didn't come across as a guy like that to me. I doubted myself in whether Kaden liked me at all. Does he only want me because I do publicity for him, meaning the interviews and the videos? Was it all just a game to him and I had been fooled all along?
I was so disappointed that I actually let myself trust him at all when clearly he only took advantage of that. Did he lie to me about his suicide thought so I would show sympathy to him?
"What's this?" I asked cautiously, turning my phone in Kaden's directionand displaying the photograph.
"That's a photo," he replied, "It's fake."
