Sadly I'd hated to admit it, but summer was over, and today was the first day back to school. I was going to be starting my sophomore and honestly, I wasn't too ecstatic about it. I pushed myself out of bed letting the cold air eat my body away. Too lazy to care, I walked passed my whining alarm clock and trudged towards the bathroom. I really gotta get used to this again, I thought.

The warm water on my back instantly snapped me out of my drowsy state. After my shower, I began rummaging through my closet. I held up my Gorillaz t-shirt next to my black cargo shorts; I grunted in satisfaction. Getting ready seriously was a hassle; unlike normal girls who just threw on a bra and called it a day, I had to bind my chest first before putting on a sports bra.

Once dressed and satisfied, I headed downstairs only to be greeted by my mother and Mike at the bottom of the steps.

"Good morning Kyle." they sang in unison

"Sup?" I said pushing past them toward the kitchen; my voice held slight concern, I think they'd gone insane.

The smell of pancakes and eggs filled my nostrils; as I wafted the air causing my stomach to growl.

"Hungry?" Mike chuckled handing me a plate.

"No, my stomach is just having a conversation with me." I retorted sarcastically.

I looked over to my mother who looked like she was about to speak but before she could I shoved a whole pancake into my mouth. The food was surprisingly good; Mike wasn't a bad cook at all; I grinned in satisfaction. My mom, still looking at me laughed in spite of the expression on my face.

"You look like a huge dork!" she said now bursting into laughter and tears.

Wait, wait, wait...did my mom, of all people, just call me a dork? Not just a dork, but a huge dork?

I looked at her disbelief and got up from the table.

"Well, this "huge dork" has to get to school."

With that said I grabbed my bag and my skateboard and headed off to the bus stop. I could see Marc waiting on the bench where we met up before walking to the stop; I quickly skated towards the bench.

"Sup?" he greeted me as I sat down next to him; I shifted to the far end of the bench and avoided his gaze.

"You okay?" he asked moving towards me.

"Yeah I'm cool." I shot back keeping my eyes on my shoes.

He sighed heavily, which caused my heart to sink.

"Kyle, at least look at me." his voice became serious.

I slowly brought my eyes to his as he asked.

"Why are you so afraid of me all of a sudden?" he sounded hurt.

Dude, do you even remember what happened yesterday?! I yelled mentally.

"Well, y-you know, I'm still hooked on what happed yesterday." I stuttered. I really am a huge dork, I thought.

Marc smirked, and before I could speak, his arm had snaked around my waist and his lips were against mine. I felt the same jolt of excitement as I had yesterday. Standing there, I thought I was going to melt in his arms, and I gladly would. He pulled away with the same smirk on his face.

"You mean that right?" he chuckled.

My face crimsoned completely, "Y-yeah, why did you kiss me though?" I asked feeling a little dumb.

Wasn't it obvious?! He's friggin crazy about you! I think...

Marc laughed again, "I swear you're too cute, and because, I like you, I always have."

Always have? I thought I was one of the guys to you...

The bus pulled up snapping me out of my thoughts. Before we got on, Marc quickly pecked me on the lips; I blushed. We took the seat in the far back like and sat in silence. Marc brought his arm around my waist and pulled me into his lap.

"Umm...are we like, together now?" I quivered at the feel of his breath on my neck; it tickled.

"That's only if you want us to be, if you don't, I'll savor this moment while it lasts." he smiled.

I slowly brought my eyes to his, "I-I do."

Just as the words escaped my mouth someone chimed in, "I now pronounce you man and wife; you may now eat face."

I covered my face with my hands and spread my fingers to see where the comment came from; it was my best friend Delilah. Marc shrugged and pried my hands off my face. He smiled and brought his lips to mine.

"Happy to have you as my wife." he grinned.

Lilah, who was sitting across from us, was staring in disbelief.

"Whoa, hol-wait a minute," she started, "did I miss something?"

"Well, you just wedded Kyle and I so she's no longer my girlfriend, she's my wife." Marc explained.

"Girlfriend? so you two were...oh my gobstoppers!!" she squealed in glee.

Gobstoppers? Really Lilah? How old are you?

I shooshed her and reminded her that we were still on the bus.

"I know, ill be quiet." she whispered excitedly.

Once at school, the three of us walked over to the outdoor lunch tables and waited for Jace, Lilah's boyfriend to arrive.

Jace came strolling towards us a couple minutes later. Without hesitation, Lilah jumped up from her seat and ran towards Jace like and excited puppy. I swear if she had a tail it'd be wagging a mile a minute.

I could tell she was talking about me and Marc being together because Jace's expression was the same as Lilah's when she found out. They came back to the table and joined us. Everybody seemed to have a pretty cool summer. Marc visited family in France, Jace went to California to see his dad, Lilah went to horseback riding camp, and I went to Korea to visit my real cousins.

Just then, the bell rang signaling the beginning of first period. As I headed toward the doors I felt someone gently pull me back. Marc enveloped me into his arms and kissed me. His tongue ran along my bottom lip causing me to pull back.

"Save it for later, when we have time." I smirked.

He smiled back at me before letting me go and walking away.
