I quickly throw on some clothing. Then I head downstairs to see who my savior is.
When I see Mr. Aldaine I am very surprised.
"Hello Ash." he says. Then he looks concerned probably seeing my tear streaked face and messy appearance. Rowen leaves when he sees I know him.
"Uhm hi. What are you doing here Mr. Aldaine?" I ask quietly.
My step-dad is in the kitchen eavesdropping.
"You forgot your homework and sketchbook on your desk at school. I know how you hate to forget your homework. But besides that are you alright?"
A little strange him knowing my address...
I glance in at my step-dad. Should I tell someone?
"Uh I'm fine. Just watching a sad movie." I lie, knowing he'll only make it worse for me.
"Are you sure you're alright? How about we go for a walk, it's a beautiful day." he says
"Oh I think that would be good." I answer. Then I kinda push us out the door.
