Joeys POV
'Good luck Joey! You got this!' I saw the text from Brian appear on my phone. I patted the ring in my pocket and headed out the door to pick up Lauren.  She and I have been dating for several years now and I was finally ready to make a commitment. I just hoped she was too. I texted her to tell her I was on my way and hopped into the car.  I could barely focus on driving I was so excited. I was also a little nervous.  I kept worrying that something would go wrong, like she wouldn't accept. I finally arrive at her apartment. I walked up to the door and pressed the buzzer. "It's Joey!" I shouted into the speaker. "Come in" I heard Julia, who was Lauren's roommate, say. I walked up the stairs. I was almost shaking with excitement as I approached her door.
Lauren's POV
"Julia! How about this?" I walk out of my room to show her my outfit.
"Lo, it's gorgeous. Perfect!" Julia squealed.  I was wearing a tight, deep purple dress that went until just above my knee. I wore sparkly heels and wore my hair in loose curls. I added a nice sparkly headband. Julia was going to help me with my makeup. 
"CMON let's go do my makeup. You said you would help" I told Julia as we headed into the bathroom. 
"So, are you excited?" Julia asked eagerly.
"Yeah. I love Joey and this seems pretty special. Julia, do you think Joeys gonna propose tonight?" I wondered.
"I can't say" Julia tried to hide a smile.
"He is! Julia! Oh my god!" I was super excited now. I didn't want to get my hopes up too high in case this was a regular date.
"What? No! Of course he isn't!" Julia teased. She probably only said that to try to keep it a secret.
"Stop Julia! I know he is!" I grinned. "Oh my god my boyfriends proposing! Julia this is so exciting!!" I squealed. I felt like a little teenager with all my excitement.
"Shh. And don't move your head so much or I'll mess up your eyeliner" Julia smiled. A minute later she stepped back. "Wow. Lauren. You look stunning!" She says as she holds up a mirror. I gasp.
"Julia- it's perfect. Than-" my phone buzzed. It was a message from Joey telling me he was on his way.  A few minutes later I heard a knock at the door.
"I'll get it" Julia shouted as she ran to open it. A moment later, Joey stepped in.
"Lauren. You look beautiful! Are you ready to go?" He asked. I followed him out to the car, trembling with excitement.
Joeys POV
Julia opens the door and I step inside. As soon as I lay my eyes in Lauren my jaw drops. She looks absolutely stunning in her purple dress and her silver shoes. Her makeup is done perfectly. The whole outfit suits her.
"Lauren. You look beautiful" I said in awe. "Are you ready to go?" I ask as a lead her to the car. The car ride is fairly quiet.  We arrive at the restaurant. "Reservation for Richter" I tell the waitress. She leads us to a small table near the back with a candle and small flower vase. It's perfect.
Lauren's POV
I see the small table that Joey reserved for us. It's very romantic- complete with a candle and flowers. We sit down. Joey and I order our food and then begin to talk. He and I both seem so excited we can hardly talk about anything for too long. I start to feel shaky.
"Joey, I'm just going to head outside for a minute" I tell him.
"Are you okay?" He asks. He's always concerned about me, just a part of what makes him so caring.
"Yeah I'm fine. I just need a little fresh air" I explain. I head outside. I must just be a little nervous. I don't really like surprises and not knowing what will happen. I reassure myself that I will be fine and head back inside.
Joeys POV
I see Lauren head outside. I bet she's just really excited. She could barely stop grinning until now. I took a deep breath and mentally prepared myself. I looked in my pocket, just to make sure the ring was still there. I patted it once more for good luck as Lauren walked back in. After a bit more small talk, I decided it was time. I purposefully knocked my fork away from our table.
"Oops! Lauren, would you mind picking that up?" I ask. As soon as she gets up, I reach into my pocket and pull out the box. I kneel down as she turns around again.
Lauren's POV
Something flies by me and I soon she Joeys fork lying on the ground.
"Oops! Lauren, would you mind picking that up?" I nod and stand up. I pick up the fork. When I turn back towards the table, I see Joey, glowing in the candle light, on one knee, holding a sparkling ring.
"Lauren Elizabeth Lopez. Will you marry me?" I cover my mouth in shock.
"Yes, Joey, yes!" I almost scream. I put on the ring as Joey stands up. He leans in to kiss me, and I kiss back passionately, shedding tears of happiness. We kiss for what feels like ages, but I finally pull apart to see the joy in my soon-to-be husbands face.
