Starkid Totally Awesome One-Shots

Lauredith (Lauren and Meredith)

Just some important background info: Team Starkid was flying to Europe for a convention, but their plane crashed in the middle of the ocean! They landed near a small island and the survivors began to fix the plane. They were going to be stuck there a awhile, so team starkid made camp on one section of the island, away from everyone else. They had very few supplies, but found a few small caves and a forested area, which is where they set up their temporary homes.
Meredith's POV
"Ok guys, were going to be in shifts for guarding the cave. Who wants to do it tonight?" Julia asked the clump of starkids.
"Wait why couldn't we just go with the rest of the people? Aren't they together?" Joey asked.
"Because Joey, we don't know them. I don't think they even made camp together. Let's just stay here" Joe snapped. He seemed pretty angry, seeing we were all trapped on an island for who knows how long.
"Cmon guys! This can be an adventure!" Lauren squeals. I try to hide my smile as I look over at her, with her bright eyes and flowing hair. She was so beautiful, even after the plane crash. She turns and catches my eye for a second, but I turn away. Conceal don't feel, don't let it show, I think.  I don't want anyone to know that I like her this way. Besides, I know Lauren wouldn't like me back. Or any girl in that way.
"Guys, guarding! I can do the first shift with someone" Julia brought the group back to attention. Darren raised his hand and looked up at her to volunteer.
"Ugh you guys would just be making out the whole time. I can do a shift if you want" Lauren says.
"Lo and I can do the second shift!" I burst out, trying to hide my excitement. 
"Okay. So it's me and Dare on the first shift and Mere and Lauren on the second?" Brian, my ex boyfriend, eyed me suspiciously, as if he knew I liked Lauren. "Ok girls so Dare and I will just wake you up" Julia nods at us.
"Guys lets play a game!" Jaime squeals. She probably wanted to play truth or dare.
"We should play truth or dare, but maybe no dares because it's dark and were on a creepy island" Brian suggested. "I'll ask first" Brian added, staring right at me. Crap! I knew he was trying to get me to open up about Lauren.  "Meredith. Of all the people here, who would you most like to date?" He was on to me. I quickly tried to think of another person. Hmm. I liked Dylan for a while recently, and he was nice, beautiful, and had he voice of an angel.
"Dylan I guess" I answer. No one seemed to notice except Brian. He didn't call me out on my lie though, he just glared at me. I stared at him with a look that read 'what's wrong with you? Why do you always have to be so nosey?' Brian stuck his tongue out at turned back towards the center of the circle. "Okay. Um. Joey- what's the biggest lie you've ever told?" I looked at him, praying it wasn't something crazy.
"Okay sorry it's kind of weird I guess but probably about when I lost my virginity" Joey answered. I sighed. I had a feeling he would say something like that. I hear Lauren say a quiet 'ugh' and facepalm.
"Wait so when was it?" Joe asked.
"And who?" Brian added.
"I'm not telling!" Joey shouted. He'd probably end up telling them later anyways. Oh boys. I subtley shook my head.  "Wait so do I go now?" Joey added. He asked Dylan about his worst childhood memory, who asked Joe about his high school grades, who asked Jaime if she would go out with him (the answer was a sharp 'no') who asked Julia about what she regrets from high school and middle school, who asked Darren if he regretted going on glee and getting super famous. It was finally Darren's turn to ask Lauren something.
"Okay so I have to do Lauren now I guess. Who do you like?" Darren asked, mouthing 'sorry!' to her. Lauren gazed around the circle. Her eyes met mine for a second, but then darted away.
"Ooh I don't know. I guess from here it would be Joe" she hesitated. This made me wonder. Did Lauren like me?
Lauren's POV
"Who do you like?" Darren's words rang in my ear. Who could I say? I didn't want to say who I really liked. I looked around the circle. My eyes met Meredith's dark chocolate ones for a second but I quickly looked away. 'What? What the hell is this?' I thought. Why did I have a crush on my best friend? No one could know I liked her! No one even thought that I could like a girl, besides Julia and Joey, my two best friends and the only people I told. I come back from my thoughts and scan the circle.
"Ooh I don't know. From here I guess it would be Joe" I lied. I felt the heat rising in my cheeks. Luckily, it was dark so no one would see me blush. 'Lauren wake up!' I thought. I looked across the circle and saw Joe smile.
"Okay Lopez. Will you go out with me?" I giggled a bit and shook my head.
"Not today Walker!" I smiled and thought of something to ask Brian. "Brian. Could you share a secret with us?" I just really hoped that everyone wouldn't start sharing secrets from this question. I had one that I just wasn't ready to share with the group.
"Um okay. I guess I'm just feeling a little jealous and lonely lately. Mere, I miss being with you. But it's okay if you want to move on. I understand. I won't hate you" Brian confessed.
"Aww I'm sorry Brian" Meredith apologized. Meredith was so sweet. She was always considerate of other peoples feelings and thoughts. Ah. Meredith was just amazing. I felt my eyes get droopy and I yawned.
"Guys it's getting late. Maybe we should go to sleep" I suggest as I stand up and walk towards the cave. Others begin to follow and I see Darren give Julia a kiss on the cheek. The cave is big enough to fit all of us. I snuggle up with Joey near a wall.

A few hours later, Julia shakes me awake.
"Come on Lo, you have to go outside and guard the cave!" She whispers. I reluctantly stand up and head outside to see Meredith sitting on a smooth rock. She motions for me to sit down next to her. Her hair and eyes shine in the moonlight. She is the hottest girl I've ever seen! I stop myself, this could mean danger! I don't want to fall head over heels in love with Meredith! I sit on the rock beside her, only barely touching her, since we are still good friends, after all. Minutes of silence pass.
"Hey Lauren. I guess since were not doing anything, we can talk a bit. There's something I need to tell you" Meredith whispers.
"Actually I need to get something off my shoulders too. And will you swear not to tell anyone?" I ask. Meredith nods. "Okay first things first, I don't think I'm completely straight. I though I was for a while but, I don't know. I'm definitely not anymore, and I don't really know exactly what I am either. It's just recently I've been having a big crush on this girl" I sighed. That was a lot to say. "And I'm really not ready for everyone to know. I've really only told Joey and Julia, and it was just pretty hard I guess. I just knew you'd be accepting" I started to cry a bit. Meredith picked my chin up and looked into my watery eyes. She leaned in to give me a hug.
"Oh Lauren. It's okay! I see that this is a lot for you and I'm really proud. Don't cry Lo!" Meredith says as she squeezes me affectionately.
"And Mere," I continue as I wipe my eyes. "I hope this won't freak you out, but I really, really like you" I whisper and more tears flow from my eyes.
Meredith's POV
My eyes open wide in shock. Could the woman of my dreams like me back?  Something that I never thought was possible suddenly became so real! I didn't know how to respond!
"Lauren! I love you too" I say as I lean in to kiss her. Our lips crash against each other. I grab Lauren's cheek as she grabs my waist, pulling me even closer.  Her soft lips press into mine I grab her neck and pull her head closer to mine, brushing her hair back. My eyes look directly into her amber ones before I close them, passionately squeezing her until we fall over into the rock. We lay there for a few minutes, just holding each other, looking up at the stars. I roll off of Lauren to sit next to her and I grab her hand. She lets out a soft giggle as we look up at the night sky, glistening with stars. I turn my head to look at her.
"I love you Lauren" I whisper.
"I love you too Meredith" she whispers back as she plants a quick kiss on my lips.  We eventually sit up and lean against the cave, with Lauren, who is barely awake,'s head resting on my shoulder. I put my arm around her back and we sit there, together, looking into the depths of the island and the wonders of the ocean.
