Sweet Dreams

You shot up in your small bed as you gasped for air, clutching your throat. This was getting ridiculous; you keep on having dreams where you drown. Except this time was different; someone saved you. You blush as you remember him performing CPR before you awoke. His purple gaze still burned into your mind as you swiped your (color) hair out of your face. This summer turned out to be promising so far, considering that you finally got to meet your aunt and uncle at their beachfront out in Rhode Island. You enjoyed yourself on the beach most of the time, especially at night.
Speaking of which, you crept to the kitchens' back door, eagerly opening the door to a whole new world of your own, filled with alluring sounds and twilight, all fit together under a full moon. The large waves crashed onto the shore, leaving behind a white foam of churned up water and sand. The quick and quiet swoosh of the constant waves lulled you as you sniffed the sea air, allowing the waves to wash over your feet, giving you a sense of warmth as you walked on the constricted damp sand.
It was nearing midnight, and you refused to go back; you felt the need to be out there there to explore and walk deeper into your backyard, which was conveniently the beach. You lift your head up to the millions of stars winking at you from their own dark, faraway ocean. Your bare legs and arms welcomed the cool breeze that blew around the quiet, undisturbed night.
You were so enveloped in the calm enviorment, that you didn't see a pair of eyes watching you in the waves, observing, admiring...

(Eridan's POV)
She was magestic. Like a panther that doesn't seek attention; sleek, but deadly if she saw you staring... At least, you think she would kill you.
For your entertainment - and to kill time - you go to the shore of your domain and enjoy the sounds of nature. You hate to admit it, but the ocean and the land make something that was breathtaking, almost like they were meant for each other... Meant to collide...
Just recently, another being started this ritual, and - curiosity being king - you decided to watch her instead of the world around you; you don't know why, but you saw her being more interesting than what you were there for.
This was the night you wanted to introduce yourself, but you decided against it, considering how she would react to a sea-dweller that has been stalking her. But as fate twisted its hand, that changed as you saw her fall.

(Your POV)
You didn't notice the large wave rolling towards you as you kept your eyes on your feet. Then you yelped as a cold wall of water slammed into you, causing your knees to buckle, and for the wave to suck you in. You panic as you see the shore grow smaller and smaller, your arms thrashing around in the water. Before you even knew it, the wave has pushed you into a rip current. You feel panic settle in even more as the shore blinked its last appearance, and left you alone in the vast ocean. You keep your head above the water as your mind races through your decisions on what to do. The ocean was freezing, and you found it to be uninviting as you shivered; it may be beautiful, but it's as unforgiving and cold.
You decide to try and swim back, but the current shoved you back to where you were. Your chin starts to slip under as you felt a wave crash into you, catching you off guard, causing you to cough and spit out salt water. Then you feel arms wrap around your waist and yourself drift off to the side. Your body tenses as you feel a face brush behind your ear.
"W-we need to take you aw-way from the current before you decide to sw-wim back." A male voice tells you as you and the person swim parallel from the shore. The arms that supported you spun you around, having you face to face with a soft purple gaze, a chiseled face, and weird ear fins, his long, wet, black and purple hair plastered to his forehead and... Horns? Yes, horns that went to the back of his head, all curvy, like the waves of the ocean. You chuckle silently as you think of candy corn, your favorite type of treat; they reminded you of them. You feel your face heat up as you recognize his beautiful eyes from your dream; who knew that they could come true? His face flushes a deep royal purple as he felt your arms on his shoulders and your legs around him so you could stay afloat.
"I-I..." You stare in shock, surprise, relief, disbelief and embarrassment, your brain not processing what just happened. Your blush deepens as you see the swimmer smirk, showing his dulled sharp teeth.
"I know-w. I look w-weird, right?" He said, attempting to read your face and mind.
You shake your head, showing him that he was completely off on his guess.
"Y-your eyes... They were in my dreams." You manage as you felt the heat spread to your ears.
He stares at you confusingly, as if he didn't know what dreams meant. "They w-were? W-was the rest of me there, too?" He asked, half joking, half serious.
You smile shyly, nodding, glancing down towards the inky abyss of salt water. "You saved me from drowning."
He chuckled. "W-who knew-w?"
You nod again, then flinch as you felt sand hit your feet; you were at the shore already? You let go of him as you waded to the edge, the waves finally on your side as they pushed you towards the dry sand. You find a nice, flat rock to sit on and you bring up your sore legs, wrapping them with your arms as you shivered from the horrid cold. The guy clambers up the rock with you and throws a cape over you and him, surprisingly thick, warm, and dry around your shoulders. You sink into the comforting fabric and stopped shivering.
"Thank you." You murmured.
"So you think w-we w-were meant to find each other?" He asked.
You face towards him, looking into his dark eyes. You feel yourself blush even more, as if he figured out that he did CPR on you in the dream. You nod hesitantly.
"Eridan." He says, offering his hand.
"(Name)." You said, taking it.
You both sat in silence after that, and soaked in the moonlight.
"So Eridan, was it by chance that you saved me, or did you cause the wave?" You joke, nudging him with your shoulder.
His eyes widened as he darkened into an even deeper shade of purple, averting his gaze from your curious eyes.
"Truth be told, I've been w-watching you for a w-while." He shrinks, awaiting for you to scream, run away, smack him, or all of them at once, leaving him with another rejection on his mind. But all you do is look at him in shock.
You chuckle, snapping out of your surprise. "I didn't know I was that interesting. Especially to a character such as yourself."
He turned towards you slowly, a look of bewilderment on his face.
"You're not mad, (name)?"
You shook your head almost immediately. "Why would I be mad when you just helped me?" You point out, making him blush even more. You lean over and quickly kiss him on the cheek, making him blush even more, burying his face into his scarf. You giggle, then stopped as you felt his hand crawl into yours. You look at him with a grin, knowing that CPR probably wasn't that bad. You leaned in as he followed suit, until you ran into each others lips.
You both stay there hesitantly until he tilted your head so he could kiss you more gently and passionately. You move your hands to his now dry hair, which was surprisingly soft. As you tangled your fingers in his locks, he runs his tongue along your bottom lip, making you shiver.
You pull back, taking in heavy breaths.
"Sw-weet dreams?" He asks, leaning his head on yours, staring at your eyes with his filled with hope.
You close your eyes, feeling sleep grow inside you.
"Sweet dreams." You answer, your eyes closing in contentment.
