The Irken Princess (Invader Zim Fanfic)

The Great Assigning

I walk upstairs form the basement, and run into Purple, he grabs my arm before I fall, and levels me up.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Tia." He apologizes, Purple is one of the only people who call me by my name.
"It's fine," I say, "what do you need?"
"I was coming to get you, were going to Conventia."
"Oh, okay, I was just coming to ask when we were leaving." I say
"Well, were getting ready. What were you doing down there? You know Red hates it." Purple asks
"I know, I was relaxing, I like it down there, dark, peaceful, quite, and isolated."
"That's what I don't get, why do you want to be isolated?"
I shrug my shoulders, "I just do. Now, let's get a move on."
I walk up to dad, with Purple behind me.
"There you are, where was she?" He asks Purple
"Where do you think?" Purple says
Dad looks at me, "I told you I didn't want you down there."
"But, I-"
"No buts, we almost left without you. Now, go get ready." He orders, after he interrupted me.
"I already am, I got ready a while ago." I say trying not to give attitude, I give dad attitude, and my life is over.
"Well, good because we weren't going to wait for you." He says walking away, I roll my eyes at his back, and trudge slowly behind.

At the Assigning

I try to stand as far behind dad as possible, but I get pushed into the middle of dad and Purple.
The assigning is boring so I tune it out, until the last one because I know we'll be leaving soon, the last is Invader Skoodge, he gets assigned to Blorch, home of the slaughtering rat people. Dad starts saying that the Assigning is over, but I hear something, my antenna go up so I can hear better, someone in the crowd trying to get on stage.
"Wait, stop!" I say pushing in front of dad and Purple.
"What is it, Tia?" Dad asks, I can tell he's trying not to snap in front of the crowd.
"Do you hear that?" I ask
They listen, and the crowd goes silent, well except for one Irken.
"That voice!" Dad says
"It can't be!" Purple says
Then the Irken struggles to climb on the stage, so I grab his arm and pull him up.
"Zim!" Dad and Purple say at the same time.
"Thank you, Princess." He says slightly bowing his head.
"Your welcome." I say, and take my place in between dad and Purple.
They start talking with Zim, about him quitting banishment, and wanting a planet. I think he should get one, and me speaking out about this will bring me one step closer to talking to my father.
"I think he should get a planet, he is mighty brave." I say
"Oh, thank you, Princess, I am quite brave, aren't I?" Zim says
"What do you mean?" Dad asks
"Well, his bravery comes from standing up and quitting banishment, and coming to beg your forgiveness, and hopefully redeeming himself. Standing up to you, is awfully brave." I explained, walking over, and standing next to Zim.
"Well, there are no more planets to assign, so where is he going to go?" Dad asks
I look around the map of space, "There, the third planet closes to the Sun." I say running over and pointing at the mystery planet.
"Well, I uh, I suppose." Dad says
"Yes, I suppose he can go there.." Purple says
Zim looks at me surprised, I wink at him as to tell him, I got your back, he seems to get the idea, and nods his head to say, thanks, I walk back over to dad and stand in my spot, then everything happens so fast I couldn't keep up with it.
To sum it up; the Tallest gave the invaders their SIR Units, but Zim got one that they called, advanced, I was going to say something, but I knew I was in enough trouble already. And after a while, everyone left. Including us.
