Haley's POV -

I was sitting on the stools with Ashley when Sal walked up to me. "Do you want to sit outside and talk?" he seemed really confident all of a sudden.

"I- yeah, sure," I smiled at him even though I was confused as fuck. I waved goodbye to Ashley as I grabbed my bag and walked out with Sal. We sat on one of the bold blue benches and it was freezing out. We turned to each other, immediately making eye contact.

"I wanted to ask you.. maybe this weekend, we could go somewhere? Like Barnes and Noble?" he hesitated, "Like.. a date?" I could feel and hear my heartbeat. I felt myself turning red.

"Y-yeah, I'd like that," I had to stop myself from screaming. We were both smiling like idiots.

"How about Saturday, maybe 1 PM?" he was blushing, but so was I.

I nodded, "Perfect." Then we started talking about how school was going, but then we sat in silence, watching cars pass by, the wind blowing on the tree branches, the sun shining onto the birds.  I shivered a little and he noticed. "Here," he offered me his jacket and draped it on my shoulders.

"Thank you," I smiled softly at him." I checked the time on my phone. It was already 11 PM. "We should start heading back in, the period's almost over," I told him. We stood up and walked side by side back into the building. Two minutes after we walked in, the bell rang. We waved goodbye and we separated into the crowded hallway. I looked down, I was still wearing his jacket. I'll just give it back the next time I see him.
