I ran in to the hall hoping she didn't see me. I want to cry more... I start to get slower by the second with my head down. I may not know much about people, but I do know what that means. Why is she doing that to herself!? I don't understand... I can't hold it in. I let another fall, and Kai is walking in front of me. Not him too. He is getting closer and is looking more concerned. I can't let anymore people see how weak I am. I speed up and wipe the tear away, but he catches my arm. Oh no... It's all over.

"Are you o-?" He says as we both stop walking.

"Let go of me," I say practically begging.

"Not until you tell me what is wrong." Everyone is going around us as if we aren't there.

"If anyone you should ask Rosalina..." He began to look was terrified.

I walked in the class, found an empty seat, and hit the desk with my forehead.

I can't help myself, but to think about the situation. Rosalina cuts herself and has bruised arms. She tries to hide her pain behind her jacket, but her heart is too visible. It is bruised and chipped. I need to help her, with her as vulnerable as she is, vampires will notice. Vampires tend to know when someone is weak, whether it be emotion or physical. Rogue vampires are probably thinking about making a move now. They prefer blood when it is tainted with sorrow. I have to talk to her after school.

After school

*Ringgg*

I grabbed my book bag and I darted to homeroom. I found her pouting near her locker until she saw me. "Hey, I am sorry about earlier," she smiled nervously.

"Wanna hang out?" She stood in shock as I raised a corner of my mouth awkwardly. "I think you should probably drop the act and explain yourself. It isn't healthy to keep it in."

"Sure..." She sighed.

"It's okay... I know you may not be happy now, but it doesn't take a genius to know that you are loved. "

"Yeah, you're right. I suppose I should tell someone. You do seem pretty trustworthy," she said as she smiled. "My house is a few blocks away from the school."

"Good, because I didn't really plan this out. A bit of a failure on my part." I scratch the back of my head and we chuckle. We began walking through the now empty hallway.

Rosalina's POV

"There once was a couple that just graduated. They were madly in love and had a bright future for both of them. He was going to be a engineer and she was going to be a lawyer. Life couldn't be any better. Then I was born. It didn't take long for life to go downhill from there..." We entered my house and went to my room. "They agreed the only way to take care of the baby and work was if one gave up their dreams. He agreed to give it up for his new family. He took care of me all day and all night. He hardly ever saw his beloved wife and to make matters worst whenever they talked, she began to treat him as a "liability". She only cared about her "wonderful" career." I began to tear up, but held it back. She rubs my back. "Thanks to her career he got lonely and depressed. Five years after I was born, they separated. She had custody of me. He acted like it he dropped all of the dead weight in his life. He was living the life he wanted to live, but that was before she thought I was a nuisance. He wasn't grateful. That was the last time I saw my "mom". And if that isn't sad enough, I will never see my "dad" again. After all he died last month, he died in a car accident. He has been haunting my dreams ever since he died. He even beat me on his last day, that's why there are still pretty fresh."

"I am so sorry," she said showing her real emotions. I stood there in awe. I haven't seen her like this before.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Anyway, leaving the details out, he blamed me for ruining his "perfect" life. That's why he beats me and that's why...I cut myself."

"Don't blame yourself! It was bound to fall apart. Every relationship is like that," she said as she smiled gently. Her words seem so sad, but she is so happy. I can tell we will be good friends by they way she cheers me up. I leaned in and hugged her stomach.

Freya's POV

"Don't blame yourself! It was bound to fall apart. Every relationship is like that," I said as I smiled a little. She hugged my stomach and I jolted, but I accepted it. She held me tight, like if she let go, her donor will come back to haunt her. So I hugged back and she finally succumbed to her tears. I felt her heart heal, I was relieved. Her scars were all that were left, because it is in the past.

*Thud* I stand up abruptly and ran down the stairs. I saw a vampire scatter away realizing what had happened to her heart and who was protecting it.
