Chapter 2
Lyric's P.O.V
So cold...
It has to be at least 20 degrees or colder outside. It doesn't help that I'm in a pair of jean shorts and a white tank top in the middle of winter. I was shivering violently and my teeth were chattering badly. Now, most people would be like, what the fudge is wrong with you? Why are you out in the middle of winter wearing that? The answer? Simple. It's been a month since I ran away and at the time, I was in Florida, but now I'm up north somewhere and I've lost my bag. The only thing I have now is my cell phone, ipod, their chargers, and some cash in my purse. I've been out here for about an hour maybe, and sooner or later, I'm going to catch hypothermia. My body is already numb and I bet my lips are blue. I huddled farther into a ball trying to get warm, though it was useless.
Thump... Thump... Thump... Thump!
I heard footsteps walking close to me. I would've lifted my head to look at them, but I had no energy left. I know I'll pass out in a little bit and probably freeze to death.
Soon though, the foot steps were right beside me when they suddenly stopped. A soft husky voice said,"Hey guys, look." I could feel their stares boring into me before one suddenly shouted,"Holy shiz! Blade! She's probably close to hypothermia! We need to do something guys." I head footsteps come closer and I was suddenly lifted up and a jacket was put around me. My body shook fiercely at the warmth, trying to thaw me out.
I hadn't realized my eyes were close until I opened them and looked right into pretty golden ones. He whispered,"You'll be ok." That was all I remembered before closing my eyes again and falling into darkness.
Blade's P.O.V
We were heading back to our band trailer, trying not to get spotted and swarmed. We just finished a concert and we need to get back to the trailer before I pass out of exhaustion. As the band was talking, I looked around and spotted a small figure that looked like a girl, sitting up against a wall curled in a ball shaking violently. I stopped and said,"Hey guys, look." It was then that I took in her apperance. What on earth is this girl thinking by wearing jean shorts and a small tank top in the middle of winter? It was then that Scott, my drummer, shouted,"Holy shiz! Blade! She's probably close to hypothermia! We need to do something guys." I nodded and rushed forward. Taking off my big warm leather jacket and picking her up while wrapping it around her. She started shaking more violently as we headed back as fast as we could towards our trailer.
I looked her over quickly to see she had snow white hair that looked as soft as silk. She looked very pale, but I'm guessing that's because of the cold. Her lips were pure blue, but still looked soft and kissable. She had a very good petite figure. At that moment, she opened her eyes and I saw that they were a blue like the ocean. She was the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on. I whispered,"You'll be ok." Then, her eyes slipped closed and her body went limp. My heart sped up and I started walking faster towards the trailer. As we burst it so suddenly, our manager Jace jumped about a foot in the air and whipped around to scold us but then his eyes widened as he saw the girl laying in my arms.
He rushed over and started asking questions like,"Who's this? What's happened? Why is she so pale and her lips so blue?" Scott started filling him in while Derek, back up singer and guitarist by the way, rushed to go call the doctor. My key boardist Leo and bass player Cody ran to the front looking for a bunch of blankets while I took her in the back bedroom, setting her on my queen sized bed. After pulling th eblanket over her, I went to the bunk beds and got the blankets off of them too before putting them on the girl. When Leo and Cody came in, they put about four more blankets on her. She had about ten on her now. They walked out of the room shortly after, probably freaked out because she almost looked dead, though her shallow breathing told she was still alive.
My breath was taken away at this beautiful girl before me. I was mesmerized by her. I don't know why, but I do know that the moment I saw this girl, she captured my attention. I wonder why she was out in the cold though? Wearing that? My heart dropped when I thought of the possibilities of what could have happened if I hadn't seen her.
My thoughts were cut off when the door opened and the doctor rushed it. He started looking over the girl and after about 15 minutes, he was finished. I asked,"So Doc, what's up with her?" He looked at me and replied,"Well, if you hadn't found her, she would've passed out and froze to death. But, she doesn't have hypothermia, surprisingly, but came very close. Her temperature is lower than normal so all you need to do is keep her warm, and give her this medicine." He handed me a bottle full of pills before continuing,"Also, she's under weight, keep her fed good and watch over her and she'll get better quickly." I nodded and he walked out while I just stood there, looking at the sleeping girl before me. I smiled before walking out. This ought to be an adventure.
Luka's P.O.V
It's been a month. A whole freaking month since my baby sister ran away. Jeff, an old connection of mine, was having trouble, which is very rare. He's spotted her twice, but was never able to keep up. He found her bag, which was full of clothes, but other than that, for the past week and a half, he has no clue where she's at. This is just great...
I punched a wall, which was good, but it made me feel better when I saw I chipped the bricks. The sting of the pain helped me to loose some of my anger and frustrations. I let out a big breath and sat down to check my phone, for the millionth time, and noticed there was a new message. It was from my dad saying:
They have something. Apparently, a guy saw Lyric sitting down in an alley way in Chicago. He went to go call the police and when they showed up, she was no longer there. There checking that area and around it to see if she's close by. Keep your hopes up, we'll find her.
I sighed and texted Tony telling him to head towards Indiana. I will find her, no matter what the cost. It's all my fault this happened. When we find you Lyric, I'll make everything up, I promise.
