IN THE CITY OF DREAMS

Prologue

"We should be getting home its already getting late." Nova said with a worried tone.

I nodded and we all walked out of the restaurant together. Eventhough we have different routes, Rick and Nova decided to escort me home first. They know that being a Plebian, other groups lurking on the street might take advantage of me.

While we are walking through a dark alley, Rick noticed that there isnt much people passing by and streetlights from a few meters behind us turns off as we continue walking to my residence.

All streetlights suddenly shuts off and only the rays of moonlight hits the street.

"Halt!" Rick said in a commanding voice.

Nova raises her hands palms facing the heavens and fire suddenly ignites above her.

A group of nine bullies suddenly appears. Five in front of us and four behind.

"I see we have an Ardor here" the man in the middle front of us states. He's wearing a black leather jacket, tattered jeans, muscular built with numerous tattoo on his arms.

"What do you want?" Nova ask in anger.

"Well missy, you look pretty and just my type, care to have a good night with me?" The man in the middle front replied.

"Dream on pal" Rick said in annoyance. He stomped the ground and the earth shaken.

Another man in front touched the ground as well and the shaking stops.

"Ahh, and we also got a terra here." the man in the middle front talks again.

"Tsk, another terra" Rick stated with a tone of disappointment.

One of the streetlights on our back lights up and then suddenly all three of us cant move.

"Ugghhh, what is this ability? Is he a beknown?" Nova curses while struggling to move.

"BINGO!! Such an intelligent cute little missy, i like you even more. Well to give you more info, my ability is SHADOW BIND, I can manipulate shadows and restrict a person's ability to move." The man in the middle front shared boastfully.

He slowly moves towards Nova and started to caress her cheek while she's trembling in resisting his ability.

"Please, dont!" I stated with slight fear.

"Ohh, and what do we have here, a small, slender man ready to jab and punch me to death. Oh im sooo scared. Haha!" He chuckles mockingly.

"He's a plebian, dont touch him you scum!" Rick stated angrily towards the bully that slowly approaches me while im looking away and trembling.

The muscular man suddenly picks out a small knife from his left pocket and gently stroked it on my neck.

"Ahhhhhhh...uurrhhhh" I screamed in pain while the man slowly traces my neck with the tip of the knife.

"Plebians are such useless beings in this city" the muscle man said huskily.

"Noooooooo!" Nova squealed loudly that made everyone cover their ears and the shadow bind ability gets broken.

Nova regains control of her body and immediately summoned fire on her right hand and throws it to the muscular man. However, it was blocked by another bully with a water wall.

" Shit! A bilge" Nova stated in annoyance.

Rick stomps the ground and it suddenly created a fissure towards the muscular man guarded by the water wall. But it was blocked by the man from before who stopped Rick's previous attack.

A man suddenly grabs me from behind and pointed a knife on my neck. I started to shake from the fear occuring within me.

"Dont move or else he's dead" Ordered from the man who was grabbing me.

Rick and Nova froze and tensed with anger from their eyes.

The muscular man moved towards Nova and slapped her, enough for her to fall on the ground. And then he punched Rick in the gut that made him kneel in pain.

"Insolent brats!" The muscular man stated in a devilishly angry voice.

The moon suddenly creeps out from the clouds and brightly shines its moonlight towards me and then my body glows.

"Power Circle, Release!" I cited such words unconciously and some anonymous symbols formed from the ground around me shining in teal color.

The man grabbing me from behind break me free and took a few steps away.

"What is that ability?" The bullies took a step back confused on the power that is new to their knowledge.

"Spirit of the Wind! show thy power upon thee creation, be thy aid against oppression bring judgment upon my call. - WINGS OF WINGDOM!!!" I chanted in a booming voice and suddenly a strong gust swirls around me and blasted all the bullies away, they stumbled and got knocked down.

I fainted and Rick caught me before i even hit the ground.

"How did he do that? I didn't know he has an ability." Nova stated with a dilated eyes and confused expression.

"Isn't he supposed to be a Plebian?" Rick asked Nova with the same expression.

And they both stared at the moon that shines brightly towards me.

Hello! this is my very first story written on wattpad and please bear with me on some of my typo and grammar errors. Im actually crafting this story just through my mobile phone.
