"How do you do this, Louis? He is an innocent man." Emma whimpered. She had a man against the wall ready to bite in but for some reason she is hesitant.
"Let your instinct take over. Like this," I gently nudged her away from the man and focused on his blood. I imagined the taste of his warm scarlet liquid running down my the throat. It wasn't long till I felt my fangs grow and my eyes turn the color of my favorite drink. I bit into his neck with ease and instantly his blood filled my mouth. His screams filled the quiet streets until i shoved my hand over his mouth. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the sweet metallic taste that was filling me. I pulled away once I knew that the man was definitely dead.
I looked up to see Emma's eyes on me. Her cheeks were slightly pink and her fingers twiddled nervously.
"Louis, I-" She began but stopped herself.
"What?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Never mind." She shook her head and looked at her feet.
"If you say so. Now do you think you could do that?" I asked her.
She looked up at me with furrowed eyebrows.
"My eyes have never turned red like that..." She said quietly.
"That's normal. After you feed from your first human, your eyes should change colors." I told her as I crept to the entrance of the alley, preparing to snatch my next victim.
"Why?" She questioned.
"I don't know it just does. Now shhh. We have a fat one coming." I shushed her.
The man walked around the corner and I snatched him. I slammed him against the wall quickly. He looked like a business man on his way home from work. To bad he will never go home.
"What do you want from me? Please, take anything you wish. Just don't hurt me!" He begged.
"Sorry, lad. We have to eat though. Emma, come here." She did as I told her. Her eyes never leaving the man.
"I want you to focus on what is inside his veins. Focus on his beating heart." I could see she was doing as I told her because her fangs popped out.
The man began whimpering and struggling at my words.
"Now go for the gold." I told her and boy, did she go for it. She lunged at his neck and sunk her teeth. A moan fell from her mouth but was hardly heard over the man's screams. Not long after, the man went limp from the lack of blood. Emma kept drinking though.
I haven't seen a vampire drink in over 50 years and I have to admit, it's hot. I see why vampires used to feed in groups. It's a huge turn on. Maybe that's why Emma was blushing......
"Done." She pulled away from the man letting his lifeless body fall to the ground. I noticed her eyes were now red and a smile now rested on her face.
"How was it?" I asked although I already knew my answer.
"Absolutely amazing." She smirked.
"I know right." I smiled.
Something that she hasn't realized yet is that human blood builds up your confidence.
"I want more. Please, Louis!" She gripped my shirt covering my chest and gave me her best puppy eyes.
"That was the plan." I smiled.
"Yay!" She cheered.
"Just please no more puppy eyes." I scolded.
"What? Don't like my puppy eyes?" She giggled.
"No, they are too effective." I said as I walked away from her and into the streets.
"Wait up for me!" She squealed followed by the sound of her shoes hitting the ground.
We reached my car and hopped in not even bothering with the bodies.
"Where we going?" She asked me.
"There is a club down town with really good blood. When people start drinking you can taste the alcohol in their blood. It's really good." I told her.
"Oh yum!" She smiled at me for a second before her face took on a more serious face.
"I'm sorry, Louis. About when I snapped at you." She apologized.
"Oh yeah. What was that all about?" I looked at her for a moment before focusing back on the road.
"I'd rather not talk about it." She mumbled.
"Fair enough. Just to let you know, I'm here if you need to talk. Alright?" I told her.
"Alright. Thank you, Louis."
"For what?" My eyes drifted to the pretty vampire beside me.
"For taking me under your wing and showing me the ropes of being a vampire. Gill died only a month after he turned me and Aunt Polly-Anne only knew what her husband, Albert, taught her. I was alone so thank you." She took my hand and gave it a quick squeeze before releasing.
"I know what it's like. A little over 200 years, I met a woman with the name of Cynthia. She was a beautiful woman. Almost too beautiful though. Of course like every boy who saw her, I fell for the lovely woman. I was a man of riches and respect at the time and she was a child of royalty so we went to many of the same parties. One day I finally came up with the courage to approach her and ask for a dance. We fell for each other that night. Not long after, I asked for her hand in marriage just to find out someone else beat me to it. The man who stole my woman was what I later found out to be a vampire. I just wished I could have known that before I decided pick a fight with him. He lost control and bit me but thankfully Cynthia came to my rescue and got him off me before he drained me. As you know now though, in order to turn a human to a vampire, you have to drink until they are at the brink of death but no further. She didn't save me soon enough to save me from becoming a monster." I spilled.
I don't know why I told her my life story but I guess I just needed to tell someone. Anyone.
"What happened after that?" She asked. She was obviously enjoying my story.
"Later, love. For now, lets get us something to eat." I told her as we pulled up to the club. I noticed how she licked her lips at the sight of all the people.
"Let's find ourselves an alley." I said right before I got out.
"Gladly." She smiled at me, following my actions.
