"It's about time." Emma teased when I got back to the car.
"Sorry." I apologized.
I wasn't exactly in the mood for joking around. Im having one of my depressed moments. They happen often after feeding. I can't help my thoughts about my late lover and then a wave of sorrow that I can't ever seem to shake.
"Hey, Louis. What's wrong?" She asked me once I got into the car.
"It's nothing." I mumbled.
"Well obviously it's something because you left happy and came back all.....depressed." She sighed.
"I swear I'm-"
"Louis, something is bothering you. Just tell me." She said in a soft voice.
"Cynthia is bothering me, ok?" I finally admitted.
"What do you mean?" She asked with a gentle voice.
"I don't know just sometimes during the day, I get these thoughts about her and then it makes me all blah." I told her as I rested my head on the steering wheel.
"I know how you feel...." She said. I felt her eyes on me.
"I was looking at a picture of him."
"Hmm?" I lifted my head up and gave her a weird look.
"At your house.....When I was sitting at the breakfast bar?" She pulled something out of her pocket and handed me a folded piece of paper. I looked at her and she nodded at me to open it. I unfolded it and noticed it was a picture of a blonde haired guy.
"Is this Gill?" I asked and she nodded.
"I think I have seen him before." I commented.
"You have?" She sounded surprised.
"10 years or so in Germany. We went to the same bar. He was a good chap from what I can remember."
"Yeah he was." She said, a tear trailing down her face.
"Shhhh, love. Please don't cry." I wiped away her tear.
"We should probably get on the road here soon." I said, trying to get the conversation off our lost love ones.
"Ready when you are." She gave me a soft smile through her tears.
I nodded and started the car up before driving out of town.
"Louis?"
"Mhmm?" I hummed.
"Why did you even agree to take care of me?"
"Because of a promise I made to keep the vampire race going for as long as possible." I told her honestly.
"Oh. Do you think we could replenish the vampire population?" She asked me.
"No. I don't have that type if control." I told her what I told her Aunt.
"Do you think I do?" She asked.
"I don't know. You know how to live without fresh human blood...I don't." I explained.
"Then we should try!" She said hopeful.
She might just be able to do it...
"Ok, next time we feed." I told her.
"Yay! If we have more vampires, we won't have to be afraid of the hunters." She smiled.
"Your a smart girl, you know that?" I said, making her giggle.

A couple hours later, we had arrived in Bradford.
"We can get a hotel room till we can find a flat." I told her pulling up to a motel.
Motels were perfect because you can come and go as you pleased without worrying about hotel curfews. I walked into the lobby and came up to the counter.
"We need a room." I told the older lady at the front desk.
"Lucky for you, I have one last room available! Credit or Debit?" She said.

After checking in, we trudged our luggage to room 69 (*Wink*). When we opened the door I noticed there was one bed. Not two, but one twin bed.
"Um, I guess I will sleep on the floor." I volunteered.
"Ok. I mean, this is only for a few days right?" She asked and I nodded.
"I'm gonna run to the store and get a bottle of whiskey. I have a feeling it will ease our nerves. Will you be okay here by yourself?" I asked her after unloading our bags.
"Yeah I believe so. Im gonna work on unpacking a bit." She answered, already pulling some stuff from a duffel bag.
"Okay. Just don't get to comfortable. Do you need anything else while I'm out?"
"This might be an odd request, but could you get a vanilla candle? It's a comfort thing."
"Yeah of course. I'll be back in a few."
I exited our room and closed the door behind me.
I got in the car and started it up. As I began my trek to the store, something occurred to me. Cynthia always loved vanilla candles because she said since the day she was turned, she could never get the smell of blood out of her nose. It seemed from the dawn of scented candles, she had one burning beside her.
There were actually a lot of similarities he could already see between Cynthia and Emma. Not as far as looks go, they are as different as you can get. Cynthia had very light blonde hair that was almost white with green eyes that you can stare into for years. Her long, black eyelashes looked somewhat fake they were so long.
She had pale, porcelain skin (something very common within the vampire community) but she didn't really look dead. She was pretty petite, always the smallest in the crowd. She was often mistaken for a kid from the back.
She was extremely graceful and careful. When the age of the vampire traps came about, she always was able to see them and dodge them while I would almost walk straight into them if it wasn't for Cynthia pulling me away.
Emma was several shades tanner than Cynthia. She had mocha colored eyes and plump pink lips. She had a sea of freckles spotting her face and a cute button nose. She is almost as tall as me and has a more distinct figure than Cynthia.
What has gotten to me? I am comparing Emma to Cynthia. No one will ever compare to Cynthia, right?
