Dr Hesketh made his way into the attic, where he had been told her room was, and was taken aback by the dehumanised state that she lived in. Her so called 'bedroom' was a harsh reminder of why her brother must have left for world war so early. Her rickety bed was covered by grey sheets and a brick wall mattress. In the darkest corner of the room was an old school desk and chair, sitting under a wonky shelf that carried several ancient dolls. Finally opposite the bed there was a full length mirror propped up on and open window that was so rusty that is must have been almost impossible to open. Standing in front of the mirror was the frail Elspeth in grey robes, her face as pallid as the fog surrounding the mansion.
"Hello Elspeth" he whispered.A/N
