My New LIfe

Chapter 4

"Jamie you wasn't suppose to say anything." Rose Ann whisper to her. Why is everyone keeping a secret from me. I know I'm not apart of the family but when someone goes to great length to keep something from me that mean it's some part in there about me. And I want to know what it is.

" Rose, she has a right to know." Jamie said back to her. They both stared at each other not saying a word. I need to get out this house. I got up from the table and started to head for the door.

"Essence', where are you going?" I can hear worry in Jamie voice when she ask me that question.

I didn't response I just kept on walking. I ididn't know where I was walking to but i need to find him. It seem like i walked down every hallway I can find at one point i thought i was walking in circles. I ran into a tall wooden oval door. Something deep down in me told me that this was the door. I open the door and walked into a sitting area. He wasn't there. I keep walking and open the door to a office. There was a huge fireplace on one side of the room and a desk with files of paper on top of it on the other. But he wasn't there either. Ugh, why I why i can't find him? If this mansion wasn't so big maybe i will get something accomplish. I thought to myself.

The double doors open and I stared at the person behind it.

"Are you looking for me?" Derick deep sexy voice said.

"I need to get to my car so i can get it fix." I said to him in an annoying tone. I don't know why i was being so mean to him but i felt hurt that he was marrying someone else. 

"I track down your friend," he shut the door behind him and walked to his desk. What was he hiding in there that i can't see.

"Well, where is she?" I said with a hand on my hip. He gesture to a sit in front of him but i shook my head. I prefer to stand.

" Suit your self. Your friend Mandy is in France with her boyfriend on a job project. She will be there for three years." My mouth dropped at what he said. I couldn't believe her. I knew she said something about France but i didn't know it was going to be this soon. I'm not going to be stuck in that house by myself for three year. I actually wanted a roommate.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about....."

"Talk to me about what?" I cut him off.

"You wanting a roommate."

"Can you read my mind 'cause I know i didn't say that out loud?" Either i was going crazy or he was but i need some answers.

"I will explain everything if you will accept my offer." He lean forward on his desk like he was about to make a business deal.

"I'm listening."

"You can either stay here for as long as you want or I can get you a dorm room on campus? It's your choice."

I can't believe he was offering me this. I just met him yesterday and already he was offering me a place to stay. I already had my mind up. I wanted to see him everyday all day and that was the only way i can have my dreams come true.

"How will I get to my classes and back if my car is still down?" Derick smile showing his perfect set of teeth. I guess he already knew it was a yes.

"I can take you to class."

"Fine now answer all of my questions?" I raise my eyebrow showing him serious i was.

"Okay I keep my promises."

"Can you read mind?"

"Yes." He said it faster than i expected.

"Okay. Jamie told me that you have to find a wife. Why?"

The smile quickly dropped from his face. "I can't believe she told. She has such a big mouth."

"Hey! Don't blame her I push it out. Now if im going to be staying here I need to know everything no putting me in the dark Derick." I wanted to know who was the luckily girl that was taking my spot.

"I'm a prince and soon I will be taking over. But before I can even think about that I need to marry." He kept his eyes on me looking for a reaction but there was none. I was lost in his eyes again. I wasn't angry at him no more i was just relief that he is telling me the truth. He got up and walked over to me and place his hand on my face again. The fire in me started to burn again and with more force. Something was drawing me closer to him but i didnt want to be a distraction while he find his wife.

"You're not a distraction, you're more like part of a problem solver." He told me with his hand still on my face.

"What does that even mean? I'm part of a problem solver." I move my head from his hand to look him in the eyes.

"You are the type of wife I want and you are the wife that i found. But there is a big problem why you can't be it."

"Then what's the problem?" I asked. I didn't care what it was i will do anything for him.

"I don't know how to tell you this but I'm a vampire and...."

"Wait, what?" I cut him off. "You are a vampire?"

"Yes I am. You have to believe me and trust me. I will never lie to you ever."

For some reason i believe him. I just never thought vampires was real. I seen Twilight and read all of the books more than thirty times, but never in a million year will i ever came across a real vampire.

"Okay..... so you are a vampire so why will that matter if you want to marry me?" I ask him while my back was turned. I kept pacing the floor cause this was a lot to take in.

"Because you are not one. My bride to be need to be a vampire. And I will never ask you to make a life changing decision."

"How long do you have?"

"Two months."

I started to laugh but the humor was not in it. "Two months? I just met you yesterday Derick. I just found out that you are a vampire. And you want me to marry you? In two months?" I haven't notice that I was sitting on the edge of the fireplace.

"Yes." I looked in his eyes and and they were soft. For some reason it seem like I known him for years not just one day.

"Let me think about it and I will give you the answer tommorrow. I need to sleep on it." I told him while I was getting up.

"Thank you, Essence'" He told me.

"Don't thank me yet." I said walking out the room. Now I have a massive headache.
