Chapter 5

I haven't realize that it was dark until i looked out of the window. I glared at my Ipod and seen that the same song was on repeat. Well this what happen when you have a lot to think about. I looked at the clock sitting on the night stand next to the bed. 9:43 p.m. that can't be right i my Ipod again that was laying on my stomach and sure enough it said 9:43 p.m. I have been laying in bed for six hours listening to the same song. I took a deep breathe and let it out. I slowly got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. Ugh I look a mess, I thought to myself. I ran a brush through my hair thinking that it will be a little better. I decided to leave the room for a moment not wanting to bump into Derick but I will handle that when it comes.

I found the exit to the back yard. It was beautiful at night the water fountian in the center of the yard change colors every few second. I stood in front of it just taking in the cool night air and the little breeze blowing through my hair.

"I just want you to know you smell very good outside." I jump feeling my heart about to come out of my chest. I turn around to see who was behind me. Dustin.

"Um, thanks I guess." I turn back towards the fountain trying to feel calm again.

"Derick told me everything that happen. You shouldn't give him a hard time, Essence' he care about you." Dustin said putting his hand on my shoulder.

"He don't know me how can he care." I said looking at him from the corner of my eye.

"Vampires find love differently then humans. We can know everything about you just by your scent, even the look in your eyes tell us if that's our soul mate. Humans fall in love with someone within months, it takes us only a few seconds. I understand what you and Derick is going through, me and Rose been through the same thing." I looked at him with wide eyes.

"You and Rose been through the same thing?" I ask him. He sat on the outside of the water fountain and reach his hand in. I follow his movement and did the same.

"In the 1800's our father told me I need to marry or the throne will be given away. I only had a week to do it so you can imagine the stress I was under. I was walking the street one night thinking about what I was going to do. I walked pass this alley and heard a women crying. I went to see what the problem was and that's when I seen her. She was cover in blood, rape, and left to die in that dirty alley," I could see Dustin face form a hard line. I could tell talking about this really made him angry but i was glad he was telling me. "I took her home that night and wait next to her bed to wake up. When she woke up I told her that I wanted to marry her, but just like you she was stubborn and didn't want to believe. That love comes from knowing someone for months and not a few seconds. It took her four days to come up with a decision, and you see what answer she made. We have been together for over two hundreds years and we are still madly in love." I seen a tear roll down his face. I turn up the corner of my mouth to give him a smile.

"Thanks Dustin I really needed that." I told him honestly. I walked back into the house and to my room. What he told me repeated in my mind until sleep found me.

If i'm going to be living here I need to tell Derick to get some curtains in this room, I thought to myself half sleep. I felt someone move right beside, I sit up forward knowing that i wouldn't go back to sleep.

"Jared, what are you doing in here?" I said yawning.

"Derick sent me in here. Last night there was a little storm and he wanted to make sure you had someone in here to keep you company." He told me with a wide grin.

"I didn't know it storm." Usually I will wake up but i didn't.

"When I came in here you had your Ipod in your ear so you probably didn't hear it. Why you don't have clothes on?" I need to start putting on clothes to many people come in this room.

"Bad habit, can you get out and let me change please?" I with a smile on my face.

"Sure I will come back when you are finish." Jared quickly walk out the room leaving me alone.

I open the close the door and seen that all of my clothes that I have left in the car was here. I have to remember to say thank you to whoever did it. I did my morning routine and walk down the hall. I met Jared before we walk down the stairs.

"You must be really hungry you haven't ate nothing all day yesterday." he remind me. My stomach started to hurt just by thinking about it. We reach the kitchen and no one was there but the kitchen.

"What will you like to eat?" Jared said stopping in front of me.

"Hashbrown and eggs will be fine." I told him. I didn't want to eat to much not knowing how much my stomach could take. Jared turn to one of the kitchen people and said something in French. That's why I never here them speak.

We walked over to the table and wait for our food to cook. I wanted to see Derick and tell him what i came up with before i lose my nerves.

"If you want to see him I can take you where he is after you finish eating." I just sat there mouth open looking at him.

"Please don't tell me you can read mind too?" I said in a disappointing mood.

"Nope but how cool will that be." I can see that thought really made excited. "I can feel emotions and control other people emotions too." He told me look at the food that was being place in front of us.

"Merci." I told the cook who just nodded and went back to cooking.

"I didn't know you can speak French?"

"A little im really bad at it."

We talked about everything while we was eating. How cool it will be to have a new person staying in the house. And how he wanted to go to college with me just to get out of the house more. I told him that we will talk to Derick about that. When we was finish eating we walk to the back yard.

"Where is he?" I ask Jared. He swung my leg in the air and caught my head before it hit the ground. "What are you Jared!?!" I screamed at him.

"Relax I'm taking you where Derick is. If we walk it will take us an hour and I want us to get there so you can come back and play the Wii with me." I just nodded and rest my head against his chest. "Close your eyes." I did what I was told and wind was hitting my face.

Before I could process what was going on I was standing in front of a waterfall. Now I have seen it all.

"Thank you Jared you can go now." Heard Derick voice coming from beside me. I didn't look up at him my mind was on the crystal clear water.

"We call this place Eden, and our back yard The Garden of Eden." He told me. I finally looked at him. He stood tall with his hands in his pockets. He wore a dark blue tight v-neck shirt and dark jean. It should be a crime for him to look this good. I have to keep my thoughts to myself from on 'cause he looked down at me with my favorite smile on his face.

"I made up my mind." I whisper to him. Eden made you want to talk softly instead of your normal voice.

"I'm listening." He now turn his full body around to see me.

I stared into his eyes while I spoke. "Yes I will marry you." At that moment I felt everything was complete. I had the perfect house, the perfect family, and the perfect man.

Derick reach in his left pocket and pulled out a small blue box. He opened it up and reviled a 14kt diamond ring with a power blue diamond in the middle. It was amazing. He put my left hand in his and slid the ring on the right finger. I felt my eyes filling with water.

"You don't know how happy you made me feel right now." Tears was on Derick face.

I can only imagine how he felt. Derick put both hand on the side of my face and lean down to give me a passionate kiss. It didn't take me long to response and now our lips was moving in unison.
