Fords POV

"Kelis, why did you pick up the phone?"

"I wanted too. You might as well divorce that old hoe."

"Kelis, stop calling her names. I gotta go."

I started to leave but Kelis grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. She kissed my lips.

"If you come back tonight, I can give you what you what really need." She said seductively.

I'll pulled out of her reach and left. I sat in the car feeling dumb. Why did I mess up my relationship with, Nakia? Fuck man !

When I got home nothing was there but my furniture and tv. Nykia must have packed all of Tykia and her things because they were all gone. I tried calling Nakia but she ignored me. Damn, I fucked up!

Tykia's POV

The doctors said I should be out of the hospital within a week or two! I'm so happy about this. My mom, on the other hand, has been depressed. I can tell she's trying to stay strong for me, but I can tell she's hurting too. I hate seeing my mommy like this.

My daddy, has been a real jerk. He's only visited once. I know him and mom are getting divorce but why does he have to be mean to his own daughter? I also haven't talked to, David. I've texted him several times but he doesn't respond. It makes me mad but I can't control what he does.

"You ready to get out of here?" my mom asked.

I nodded. I was so ready to get out of this place.

As I walked out of the hospital, all the nurses said bye and I said goodbye back.

Once we were in the car my mom sighed, started the car, and began driving. I noticed she wasn't taken us home. Where were we going?

"Mom, where are we going?"

"I got us a little apartment."

"W- why?"

"Well, you know your father and I are getting divorce, so why would we be living in the same house as him."

I nodded, knowing she was right, but it still seemed wrong. Maybe they wouldn't go through with the divorce. I sure hope not.

We pulled up in a nice parking lot. When we got out the car, my mom led the way. We walked into the main desk and went to the elevator.

"We're in room 247." my mom said.

"Why does this remind me so much of a hotel?"

"It's really nice, isn't it?"

"Yeah."

We got out of the elevator and walked to our apartment. No, this was a hotel! Everything about it reminded me of a hotel.

We settled in and began watching tv.

"Mom, is this a hotel?"

She sighed. "Yeah. It's a hotel. It was supposed to be a surprise for you, but you figured it out."

"A surprise?"

"Yeah, later everyone was- you'll find out later."

I smiled. I loved hotels!

At 1:00 I heard knocks on the door. I got up and opened it.

"SURPRISE!" Yelled my family.

I was so happy. All this for me getting out of the hospital? I really loved my family.

Everyone came in and sat down.

"Y'all crazy!"

"We know." said Nova. "Now put on your swimming suits. We're going to take you guys to the pool."

All of the kids, including me grabbed our swimming suits and ran into the bathrooms.

Nova's POV

I was so happy that Tykia was happy, but her mom still looked angry.

"Did you tell her yet?" I asked Nakia.

"No. I don't know how to tell her."

"Just be honest with her."

Nakia was planning on telling her about her dad because Ford wasn't visiting her or anything.

"How? You don't have to deal with this, I do!"

I sighed. "Tell her that-"

"I'll tell her soon."
