DING!

Why? Why me?!

Today the monday gods had joined forces and were teamed up against me. Why ,you may ask? I wasn't able to sleep because my neighbour was 'getting some'. When I had the pleasure of experiencing sleep I was woke up by a car whose alarm had went off which gifted me a throbbing headache. I had SIA calling me early morning stating that cheif wanted to have a word with me.

So I got up to take a shower and there was no warm water for me all thanks to Caleb. Then when it came for time to breakfast the only thing I usually have is my coffee and you know what my keurig was broken! On all the days it could breakdown it used it to be today. When I could do with as much caffeineI could get. Luckily, my car was as good as new, but no, how can life be good for lil 'ol me! After being stuck in traffic for two hours now I had to take stairs cause the lift closed in my face and I could not get any more late.

Knock. Knock.

After knocking I enter chief's office to see him, solving a sudoku puzzle, glasses perched on the tip of his nose, the pencil in his hand filling the blank boxes quickly with numbers. I cleared my throat to gain his attention.

"Oh Jordan! You are here! I thought you would be here when all my hair would have fallen off!" He said smiling sarcastically.

"You are right, Roger! That is why I am here. Poor you, have to wear an itchy wig on bald head!" I replied with equal amount of sarcasm.

He glared at me for a while, but could not hold his glare and we both bursted out laughing.

"I missed you, Kiddo!" he said opening his arms to hug me, hugging me with one hand he ruffled my hair with his other hand.

"Don't, do that!" I said glaring at him while smoothing down my now ruffled hair.

"Veronica is missing you around the house, would you like to come to dinner?" he asked.

"I do too. However is this why you called me here?" I asked in return.

"No. I summoned you here to give you a new mission."

"Summoned, really? Wait?! A new mission!" I perked up at that.

I love me some mission.

"I just wanted to use that word." he shrugged.

"Okay, but what about the mission?" I asked excitedly.

"Yeah about that you have a new mission. It is an undercover mission and you have a partner with you." he said passing a file with all the details regarding the mission.

"Partner? but Romeo is on his honeymoon." I said confused.

"New mission. New partner." he said nonchalantly.

"How? What? Why? You can not do that? Romeo is my partner." I rambled off completely frustrated.

"Now he is not. I just did. Because your partner is out of town. New mission comes with new partners. Though I love you Jordan, SIA comes first, It is for the best."

"This is why sometimes Ronnie makes you sleep on the couch." I mumbled under my breath.

"What did you just mumble?"

"Nothing! About that dinner?"

"Yeah? It can be today."

"AWESOME!" I exclaimed.

I could really do with some good food which is served by Veronica, because I am not happy about the side dish I got served with the main meal by her husband.

A new mission with a side of new partner.
