This chapter takes place in the story Rosette is acting out
It was time to tell Jax how I felt. I got out of my bed thinking I'm going to tell the man who bumped into me weeks ago that I loved him... God I hope he likes me back. We planned on meeting at the park by my apartment.
When I get to the park, I noticed how beautiful it is, how had I not noticed this before? The breeze smelt sweet and luxurious, the flowers and trees looked as though they were glowing with joy for me. Everything felt as if they were pushing me forward telling me to go for it and tell him how I felt. Then I noticed him sitting on a bench and reading a book. I walked over and sat next to him.
"Hey Jax" I said,
"Hey beautiful" he responded putting his arm around me.
"So... I really want to tell you something..."I said nervously.
"Okay, so tell me." he says with a calming smile.
"Jax..." I start, "Jax I... I love you." He just sits there, staring into my eyes. He smiled and said
"I love you too."
He said as he smiled and then kissed my lips sending familiar chills up my spine and making butterflies in my stomach. I was so happy saying those words to him but at the same time I felt pain. I thought to myself,
"In my heart I honestly loved him, but I couldn't tell him, how did I only have the confidence to tell him during the story and not in reality? On the first day we weren't exactly told what would happen if we fell in love with our killer. Only that the Story Tellers would decide our fate. Would taking a chance and telling Jax how I felt be worth the risk?"
