Chapter 4

I almost didn't come to school today. The scenes from yesterday playing over and over in my mind still felt fresh but, I knew if I didn't go to school my mom would keep bugging me until I told her the reason why. So, with all of my courage, I walked into this hell house I call, 'School'. 

"Rosette!" I hear a voice call behind me. I turn around to see Casey running towards me. "Are you okay?! I heard what happened yesterday! You must have been terrified. I'm surprised you came to school today." She says caressing my shoulder. I was quiet for a few moments, not knowing how to respond.

"Don't worry I'm alright now," I said trying to reassure her.

"Well, you won't have to worry about anyone bullying you anymore!"

I gave her a confused look. "What do you mean?"

"I mean the H3 told the whole school that you were off limits. Basically, that no one is allowed to bully you any longer and that you were not a target!" she replied happily. 

I could not believe what she was saying. I am no longer a target?! Then I remembered Greyson and how he protected me yesterday. Could he have been the one who did that? 

"But hey I will see you at lunch I have to get to class!" She says right before giving me a short hug. "Bye!"

"Bye." And she was gone.

Casey was right. No one tried to bully me at all. I was able to get through the day without a scratch on me and my clothes. I felt as though I could relax for the remainder of my high school life. I was walking to the bus stop to get home when I see a black car pull up beside me on the road. I immediately stopped, was confused, and did not know what to do. Three boys exited the car and started walking towards me. I recognized them instantly. They were the boys from yesterday. I Instantly bolted in the opposite direction trying to run as fast as my short legs could go. It wasn't enough though they had a hold of me within 5 seconds. I started to scream but one of them put a white cloth over my mouth and everything became dark.

I woke up in a dark room. Completely unaware of where I was. I looked at my surroundings of what looks to be like a dinning room. I was sitting in a chair in the middle of the room at the end of a small round table. This table had three candles lit with a dozen red roses in a vase. The only other light in the room is from the sun emitting through the window. The whole room looked the size of my whole house. It was remarkable.

"Your finally awake." I hear a voice say. I see a figure walk out of the shadows and into the window daylight. It was none other than Duke Hamilton with the biggest smirk on his face I have ever seen. "I thought you would never wake up. You had been asleep for two whole hours."

"Duke what do you what?! What am I doing here?!" I said angrily.

"I have a proposition for you." he say walking towards me. "I will allow you to be my secret girlfriend. When we are in public you may walk behind me and when we are alone you may walk beside me at school." He then was quiet waiting for a response from me.

I started bursting out laughing. "You're not serious?!"

"I'm completely serious Rosette," he says with a straight face.

I then finally get up out of my seat. "You think I want to be your girlfriend? Who in their right mind would ever want to date you?! Thanks but no thanks. There is no way I could ever like you"

His calm exterior suddenly turned to anger as he walked towards me. "What is it that's not likable about me? Im handsome. Im filthy rich. What's not to like?!"

I walked towards him so that his face is right next to mine for him to hear every word I was about to say. "Your arrogant. Your cocky. Your a selfish little rich boy who cares about no one but himself. Your a bully to everyone and you think your better than everyone else. And lastly, you think money can solve all your problems" I was about to turn and leave when I looked back at him and slapped him right across his jaw. 

"Ow! What the hell was that for?!" he yelled in pain.

"That was for bullying me, for what happened to me yesterday, for kidnapping me and just for everything!" I screamed back.

"Hey what happened yesterday wasn't my fault. I didn't tell them to..I would never tell them to do that!" He said in defense.

"What makes you think I would believe you?!" I questioned.

He was quiet for a minute. He then ran his fingers through his hair. "Damn, why are you so stubborn?"

"Just leave me alone okay. I would never date you even if you were the last guy on earth. I hate you!" I said right before bolting out of the room. I see a long hallway with probably about 20 different doors. 

"Jesus, how the heck do you get out of this place?" I said out loud. I walked around going though every single room. Finally, about 15 minutes later I managed to get through the front door. He had the biggest front lawn I had ever seen. It looked like a golf course. He must be crazy if he thinks I would ever date a porky pine selfish rich boy like him. I thought to myself as I walked past the front gate.

I watched as she ran out the door. How dare she talk to me that way! She hates me?! Where did I go wrong? I thought if I asked her to be my girlfriend she would fall in love with me. After a few weeks, I would dump her and she would want to drop out of school. I thought it was the perfect plan. I didn't expect this at all.  I pulled out my iPhone decided to call my buddy Austin for some advice on what to do.

"Yo," Austin answers.

"Hey, my plan didn't work I don't know what to do bro. She literally said that she hates me." 

"Dude that's a good thing!"

"What? How the hell is that a good thing?!" I demanded.

"The more a girl says she hates you the more she is falling in love with you," he says confidently.

I was silent for a few moments then I had a resolution. "Oh, I get it so when she says she hates me she really loves me. She's trying to play hard to get."

"Right man! Hey, I gotta go. I got a hot date in a few. Later man."

I hang up the phone in confidence. No way I am giving up that Easily. Sooner or later, Rosette. You will see. I'll make you fall head over heels in love with me. And then you will be mine.
