Julian's POV 

My eyes shot over to McKenzie and Scarlett when a scream pierced the air. I seen Scarlett running towards the rogue wolf that was about to bite our daughter. 

But she didn't make it. Kenzie's side was bitten and when he was about to go for the kill to the neck he was tackled to the ground by a grey wolf I remembered running away that day.

I had gotten a mouth full from my mom and dad but I didn't care. I didn't want a mate then. But when Scarlett's mom yelled at me and then Tilly telling me I deserved it...I knew I did. 

I had made a mistake and I knew I made an even bigger one when I found out I had a daughter. I got up out of my seat and tried to go to kill the rogue so Scarlett wouldn't get hurt.

I was held back by her dad and others. "Don't Julian. It's her fight."

"Let me go she could get hurt!"

"No. Not when someone hurts Kenzie. I know it because I have Zander and I would do that too. It doesn't even matter if I would die I would be protecting family." Tilly said coming up with a teary eyes little boy who I now knew was Zander. 

Her mate came up and held them close. I looked to no longer see her fighting the rogue, I couldn't even hear them.

They pulled me to the hospital and sat me in the waiting room. "Wait for your daughter Julian. This is where Scarlett will come too."

I nodded with a frown and waited. 

And waited...

Scarlett's POV

I circled the rogue wolf who didn't look so confident anymore. He shifted back and pulled on shorts that he had. I didn't even notice till he was shifting.

"I-I was paid I swear...T-They wanted Alpha Julian's daughter dead. We were gonna get you since you were his mate but we figured hurting the daughter would get you both."

That's when I lunged at him and dragged my claws down his bare stomach. He screamed in pain before I ripped out his neck. 

I had a bite on my leg and shoulder and blood was all over my muzzle. I stalked back to the pack house still in wolf form and into the hospital where people looked at me with wide eyes. 

I sniffed the air and followed her scent into a room where she laid on the giant bed all pale. I let out a whimper as I looked at her. 

A nurse came in with clothes and put them in the bathroom. I went in the bathroom and shut the door now noticing Julian was in here. 

I cleaned the blood off my mouth and slipped on the blue tank-top and yoga pants. I walked out and stopped when I heard a growl. I turned to Julian who was eyeing my shoulder. The bite on my shoulder that was slowly healing. 

He stood up and walked up to me. "You scared me Scarlett. Look I know what I did was wrong. I want you back Sc-"

"Don't. Don't do this right now Julian." I said shaking my head. I took a seat next to Kenzie and looked at her pale form.

I just stared like I was waiting for her to open her eyes and jump in my arms. Sniffles came from my body the more I looked at her.

"Scarlett?" Julian said standing up and walking over to me. 

Right now I didn't care how much I wanted to wait with Kenzie. I got up anger filling my body. "It's all your fault! She's like this because your an asshole Julian! You just had to reject me! You just had to come to that party!" At this point I was punching him while crying.

He seemed unfazed but a frown held his face. he stopped me by wrapping his arms around my. I fell down crying in his arms. 

"It's all my fault!" I cried out. He picked me up and moved me to the chair. I was sat on his lap as I cried in his neck. He rubbed my back as I cried.

"It's not your fault Scar. It's my fault..."

I just cried. I cried until I fell asleep in his arms. For once I felt safe. I know I wanted to hate him but I never hated him. I just hated myself for not being good enough. But deep down I know it's not true. 

I know I can't take Julian away from Kenzie. 

I had to stay here....

When I woke up I was laying stomach down on Julian's chest with his arms wrapped around my waist on the couch in the hospital room.

I wiggled out of his arms and turned to Kenzie hoping she was awake. But she wasn't. I got into the bed and layed behind her with her laying against me. I ran my hands through her hair and rested my chin on top of her head. 

I started to sing this one song. 

"Stay awake, stay awake survive. Cause I've got ninteen stars that I, gave your name tonight. I wanna scream, wanna scream your name, starlight star bring can save. Your my wish tonight."

It was only a piece but we loved the song. 

"Mommy?" A small voice croaked.

I'm so not happy with how short this is...Sorry guys but at least it's something.
