I paced my garden with thoughts like a swarm of bees around my brain, stinging with the bad ones and swarming everything.
What happened to the Argo II? Was Leo okay? Were they going to drown?
No, stupid. I thought. They'd die in a fiery explosion first.
That was even worse.
I plopped down on the bench angrily, dropping my spade. I hadn't got anything done lately because all I've been thinking about is ways that Leo could potentially die and leave me on this island forever.
I didn't even know why I'd hoped he'd come back. There was no way.
No man ever found Ogygia twice.
I kept repeating that to myself. Leo'd never make it back anyway. Maybe he was content living a life away from me.
The girl who was causing all of his problems.
But then again, if he stopped looking for me, Aphrodite would stop giving him such terrible fates. And he wouldn't have Iris Messaged me if he didn't want to see me.
No, Calypso. Don't get your hopes up.
There just wasn't any way for him to make it back. That was that. Leo would never find Ogygia again, and I'd be alone forever.
I couldn't figure out what was worse. Being alone forever or watching Leo suffer to try and accomplish the impossible.
Well, now it seems obvious. I thought.
I just wished Leo would forget about me and move on. Percy did.
"Boys are so confusing." I muttered. Picking up my spade once again, I went to work.
