I was confused when I saw the bird.

Sure, I'd seen a bird before. Everyone has. But this little pecker was very curious and caught my interest. So instead of folding my laundry like I should have, I dropped my chores and went outside.

The bird didn't move when I approached. In fact, if it was even possible, it got even closer.

I watched it as I kneeled on the ground, reaching my hand out. The bird jumped up to it and pecked my steady finger, then flew away.

It was the most interesting part of my day.

My day continued on and I got even more curious about the bird. Why had it appeared? It was probably nothing, but I was far too accustomed with the term nothing to let this slide. It was interesting to me and gave me something to think about, which I was beyond grateful for.

When you're on an island for eternity, you tend to get a little bored.

Boredom was starting to become a normal feeling for me, unfortunately.

Nothing exciting like the bird appeared again for two days, when the snake showed up.

I was out raking in the garden when my tool got caught on what I thought was a root.

It was a snake.

I yelped and dropped my rake, running back to my safe haven. I kept glancing back to see if the bloody thing was following, and it fortunately wasn't.

The last semi-interesting thing that occurred was the rabbit.

Snow white and calm as a lake in the morning, the rabbit sat on my bench in my garden. It stared at me.

I stared at it.

It was sweet, honestly. But why was it on Ogygia?

Nothing good ever happens on Ogygia.
