The Birthday

I said goodbye to my mom one last time before heading off for school.
I went to my normal classes.
With my normal teachers.
And my normal classmates. (However I can make exceptions.)
I went to write a date on my test, so I looked up.
Up at the calendar.
Up at the date.
Then I saw it.
The date.
Oh crap.
How could I forget.
The next day was my moms birthday.
I made her something better and better every year.
The previous year I made her a scrapbook filled with pictures of our time together since I was a baby.
It took weeks.
Months!
How was I going to top that in less than a day.
Oh crap.
