I walked down the corridor, my breathing fast and rasp, and my legs quivering. I held my breath around each corner, expecting it to jump out at me. Whatever it is.

I stopped and put my body weight against the wall, dropping to the floor in a heap of sweat and fear. I sat there, alone, looking up and down, through every window and crack in the building. I knew it was here, I saw it, I just didn't know where it had run off to. Or what it is planning to do.

I started to remember James, how I had left him behind like that. I tried not to blame myself, telling myself I needed to get to safety, but it was no use. James was the only one in the division who kept me going through this twisted life. I started crying and went to bury my face in my hands when I heard a noise around the corner. A gigantic shadow covered the floor and walls at the end of the hallway.

I got up and started to creep away from the hall end. As I saw it come around the corner, it also saw me. It let out a very low growl and I started to run. All I could think to myself was, "Why do prison halls have to be so long?"
