Mr. Nelson did not expect to walk back into this. Four teenage boys sleeping, and a couple of them snoring at their desks. Did these kids even follow the rules? "WAKE UP!" he yells and bangs on the nearest desk. The boys don't move at all. "Who has to go to the restroom?" he asks, coaxing the boys into moving. They all raise their hands. The walk to the restroom is quiet and uneventful. When Mr. Nelson files the boys back into the room, he looks at his watch and notices it's lunchtime. "Okay, you all get a thirty minute break for lunch now." Michael decides to start. "Can we go eat in the cafeteria? I mean, that is the lunch room after all." Mr. Nelson rolls his eyes. He's heard stories about Michael Clifford and his troublemaking ways. "No. Now sit down." he says sternly, hoping Michael will get the point. "Well, what about a drink? Are you going to let us dehydrate in here because I don't think four dead teens would look to great on your record now would it?" The other boys snicker at Michael's wise ass comments. Mr. Nelson just gives in. "Fine. I'll go to the teacher's lounge and get you all a drink. What do you want?" Mr. Nelson comes back a few minutes later with four cans of Coca-Cola and gives them to the boys. They thank him, except Michael of course who just says something sarcastic and Mr. Nelson makes his way back to the teacher's lounge. The boys all pull out lunches. Except Michael. His father told him he can eat dinner when he gets home, and of course his mother didn't say anything to defend him against the asshole. Calum pulls out a lunch so huge, you'd think he went to a buffet. Ashton just pulls out a sandwich and a snack, nothing huge. And Luke pulls out sushi. Michael laughs when he sees this and walks over to Luke's desk. "Now what the hell is this fruity shit? You know it's detention, not a five star restaurant right? I guess you're not as smart as you lead on." Luke just begins assembling his plate and takes out his chopsticks, deciding that ignoring Michael is the best idea. But Michael eggs him on. "Seriously, sushi man?" Michael takes a piece off Luke's plate, dips it in the sauce and pops it into his mouth. "I never met a boy who brings fucking sushi to detention, now this," Michael says as he takes another piece off Luke's plate, "is actually quite good." He goes to take a third piece off Luke's plate when Ashton says something.

See, Ashton, who is now just ignored used to be bullied quite badly and decides that if the kid won't stand up for himself, he'll do it. "Cut it out. Stop taking the kid's food " Ashton says, coming to Luke's defenses. Luke looks up at Ashton, shocked. No one has ever stood up for him like that before. Not even himself. "He's just sharing. Right Luke? You're doing what your mother taught you to do and share?" Michael says taunting him. Now Luke is angry. Don't bring his mother, who he loves more than anything into this. "No. I'm not." Luke says and covers his lunch with his hands. Michael walks away and goes over to Ashton. "So since Luke won't share, because you told him not to, I'll just steal some of your lunch,' Michael says and takes Ashton's apple and bites into it disgustingly to get a rise out of Ashton. "Well, now that you've sunk your dirty mouth into my apple, just keep it." Ashton says with a bit of sass. Michael laughs and walks over to Calum. "Or maybe Calum should share with me, since he has enough over here to feed a small country." He goes to take food from Calum, but he smacks his hand. "Don't fucking think about it. I'm not like these two, I'll fucking deck you if you start with me." Michael rolls his eyes and when Calum isn't looking steals one of his sandwiches. It's just a damn sandwich after all. Mr. Nelson comes in to say that lunch is over and do garbage and walks out. "You boys have six hours to do your essay, remember that," he says sternly as he walks out the door.
