<BIRDY POV>
Everything was... Different since I moved to Texas. My cozy cottage like home in Seattle Washington laid empty and abandon. The new house was too large for my small family of four. It was in a large gated community the whole thing was just over rated and over priced. My dads new job and obvious higher income was supported in this observation of the new house.
"Isn't it beautiful Birdy!" My mother said putting her hand on my shoulder as we stood in the green grass of the front yard looking up at the large brick house.
"Awesome momma." I said pulling out my phone and hooking on my head phones.
My mother loved to make up nick names for her kids. It's not like the names she gave us were good enough. My original name is Mary Katherine but that being so long my mother has called me Birdy for as long as I can remember. It suits me though so I don't fully mind.
My older brother walked up behind me and encouraged me into the new home so we could choose rooms. The inside was ridiculous. The ceiling was huge with two stairwells that curved towards each other and met at the top of the second floor. My father informed my brother,Tate, that there was only one master suite upstairs and two down stairs. I liked bring in solitude so I choose the one up stairs with out even seeing it.
