After class, I head to my job at a little coffee shop around the corner of the apartment complex I live in. I applied there instead of Starbucks, since it's always loud at Starbucks. This coffee shop is quiet and small and although I only get paid minimum wage, I like it there. I usually work a couple hours each shift before my next class. I've worked here for a while and became familiar with the people that come here, as well; The guy in the corner that always seems to be wearing a beanie, listening to music on his laptop. The girl and her friend that come here often to study. And let's not forget about the kid that's always here to use our shop's free internet just so he can play computer games. Although, I don't know these people personally, I've grown accustomed to the peaceful environment here.

I walk with my friend/coworker Andre to class. We've been working together for pretty long and usually walk to the campus together since it's pretty close by.
"Dude, you know that girl, Yassi, I've been seeing?"
"Yeah, what about her man?"
"Nothing, it's just that, I think I wanna ask her to be my girlfriend?"
"Really? I wouldn't take you for a type of person that would wanna take things with a girl seriously"
"Well yeah, but I don't know...this girl is different, James...she's funny, cute, smart, I dunno man..."
"Hey, that's great for you man"
"What about you? You still don't wanna be dating anytime soon?"
I pause to think about his question. I haven't been thinking about that lately, so I don't know how to really reply. "It's not that...it's just, you know, I don't think I have time for it. Plus, I haven't met anyone I'm really interested in, man."
"Alright, whatever you say. But just promise, you'll stay open minded?"
"Yeah, yeah" I chuckled as we continued walking.
