So I gotta break my own rules for this chapter. This is not a short story, but a poem I've written for @TryHardElephant 's contest. I'm supposed to write a poem or short story with a specified setting, which is The Outback, Australia, in my case. Enjoy!

Secret Meeting

Restless dingos howling,

The hazel sands waking from their slumber

They leaped in playful ringlets with the rhythm of the night wind,

Not minding the pair of bare feet that walked pass them

A grotesque mixture of impatience and excitement in his pace.

Stooping into the darkness, down he went

The weary underground cave so used to his visit

The next second, the night was lifted—

As a spurt of lighted match came ablaze

Burning in wondrous blue.

She was here, just like all those nights before

Nights so full of secrets, of unleashed passions

Entangling them in unison

As they embraced, as they danced

To the two forbidden hearts beating each to each.
