As we walked through the forest, I thought about what Tobi had told us before he let us leave. You’ll choose who you’re loyal to when the time comes. What could that possibly mean?

“Hey!” Sasuke punched my arm, shocking me back into reality.

“Ow,” I rubbed my arm, “What do you want?” He let out a frustrated sigh.

“We’re almost there, what are we going to say when we get there?” I’d been thinking about that as well, I figured I’d be okay as long as Jiraiya and Kakashi kept my secret… Kakashi! I slapped my forehead, I had totally forgotten about him! Sasuke cleared his throat, and I was snapped back into reality again.

“Oh, yeah, well…” I thought about it for a minute. “The best we can really do is to tell the truth.” Sasuke looked over to me, raising an eyebrow.

“So you’re going to tell them you were part of the Akatsuki?” I sighed, I figured that wasn’t the best idea, but it had to come to light eventually. Rather, it would come to light eventually, whether or not I was to one to say it.

“I’m not sure.” I said, shrugging. We were getting closer to the gate, it was appearing over the hills as we walked, yet no people were seen.

“Can I ask you something?” I looked over; the way he asked seemed uncharacteristic. I nodded, “What’s your chakra nature?”

“Wind and Water, why?” Sasuke motioned for me to look up, seeing a massive barrier start to go over the village. “Oh jeesh, let’s hurry!” We ran as fast as we could, managing to slide under the barrier before it settled.

“It looks like a protective barrier, are they expecting someone…?” Sasuke observed, looking over to me for confirmation.

“Let’s go find out.” I grabbed Sasukes arm, pulling him towards the center of town. Just as quickly as the barrier went down, a large amount of missiles were launched through it, spawning various summoned beast around the village.

“What a coincidence, a way to prove our loyalty.” I laughed; this was all too… convenient.

“Well hello there, Rin.” I turned, coming face to face with Pain. “Are you here to assist us?” I drew Kiniro, placing it on my shoulder.

“No… I’m with the Village.” Pains face was emotionless, but I could feel Nagatos disappointment seeping through his puppet.

“Very well, I have other matters to attend to. If you get in my way, I will not hesitate to end your life.” I nodded and gulped, I really didn’t want to face off with Pain, but I’d do what I had to do to protect the village Itachi died for.

I watched as that Pain jumped off, knowing he was probably watching me with another Pain nearby. I grabbed Sasukes arm, pulling him with me as I ran, letting go once I knew he’d follow me. A large wall was set up in front of us as we walked which I assumed was a jutsu creation.

“Sasuke!” He nodded, creating a Chidori and bursting through the wall, revealing Kakashi and Pain, but this one was know specifically as Yahiko. I lunged forward, swinging my Kiniro with all I had, only chipping off a bit of his robe.

Pain squinted, causing everything around him to be pushed away violently, Sasuke and I included. I hit the ground hard, feeling my hand roll under my body and getting dislocated as I rolled across the rubble. I stood, scowling and attempting to apply the little medical ninjutsu I knew to fix it quick.

Sasuke skidded past me, drawing his swords and pouring chakra into them, creating lightning blades. I ran over to Kakashi, his shoulder had been impaled by a kunai, which he pulled out carelessly.

“You’re back,” he sighed, grabbing my hand and standing. “With Sasuke?!” He looked over at Sasuke, who was fighting adamantly for his village.

“We’re back… for good.” I looked around for my blade, which was easy to find since it was golden. I sprinted to it, dodging as Pain threw rubble at me. Kakashi grabbed his wrist and began channeling lightning nature chakra through it, creating a lightning wolf.

As soon as it got close to Pain, it disappeared, a small puff of dirt flying from the floor. I threw one of my blades at Nagato, which he dodged instead of pushing it away, my eyes narrowed. Pain looked over to me, firing countless objects at me in an attempt to stun me.

So he doesn’t want to kill me, I could use that to my advantage. I placed Kiniro on my shoulder, charging towards Pain and swinging, and began to get pushed back. Shoving my sword in the ground, I withstood the pushing and swung myself around my sword, kicking at Pain.

My foot connected, but not with what I wanted. Another Pain had appeared, catching my foot and twisting. I twisted along with my foot, trying to prevent any severe damage from being done. The weapon scrolls I kept in my pack rolled onto the floor, giving me an idea.

I kicked myself away from Pain, who held my foot gently, and into Sasuke. He grasped the edge of my scroll; throwing it upwards and watching it unravel. I bit my thumb, spreading blood across the scroll and summoning my secret weapon – Zetsumei.

The difference between the two named weapons was the fact that one allowed chakra to be channeled through it, which was Zetsumei.  It was an axe the size of a bear, with an equally large handle, but was very easy to wield.

“Wind Release: Wind Cutter!” I screamed, slicing through the air with my axe, an axe shaped gust of wind blowing through the area in front of me.  It cut through the rubble beneath Pain, catching both of them off guard.

The secondary Pain fell into the rubble then proceeded to be trapped by the things that had been thrown by my gust. Kakashi picked up on it immediately, charging towards the secondary Pain with his Chidori and slicing through his head.

The lifeless body fell backwards, the metal cylinders falling out of his body. Sasuke looked over, his incomplete Susanoo hovering over him, aiming a bow at the remaining Pain.

Pain blew all his surroundings away once again, Kakashi and I included. Sasuke was just out of the blast range, but still got a nice face full of dirt.

Looking over, I saw Kakashi was trapped between boards, his arms completely out of commission. Pain picked up a single nail, aiming it at Kakashi and shooting it forward. I lunged towards Pain while he was focused on Kakashi, who was able to send the nail away with his Sharingan ability.

I swung my sword, combining my chakra natures to create an ice covered blade, swinging it at Pain with deadly precision. He managed to side step slightly, causing the blow to take off his arm instead of his head.

The body fell to the ground, and lay there unmoving. Sasuke kept his weapon aimed at the body while I limped over to Kakashi and tried to pull the planks off of him.

“Rin!” I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I looked down, mortified to see there was a large hole right below my heart that was now pouring a large amount of blood. I held my hand out in front of me, catching the blood as it fell out, shaking uncontrollably.

I no longer had the strength to keep myself up and fell to the ground, tumbling down the rubble. I could feel my life pouring out of my body as I lay there. Kakashi freed himself, jumping down to me as I let out a violent cough, letting out more blood.

My vision began blotching out in little bits as I watched Kakashi try to cover my wound with his coat. I smiled, whispering a final ‘goodbye’ to Kakashi as I let go.
