In the Pourin Rain

Aaliyah's POV~

After eating at Starbucks, James offered to walk me home. What am I supposed to say I mean I never told him about my mom. She beats me every day and especially since it's 3 hours passed my curfew I know I'll be getting extra beating tonight.

"Umm...I don't know, I don't think that's a good idea. "

"Why? Well I am not leaving without knowing you got home safe. So no matter what you say I'm taking you home!" he demanded.

Great now if my mom sees this, well him.........

As we were walking back to my house it started to rain. He looked over and saw I was cold, he took off his jacket and wrapped it around me.

"Why did You do that?" I asked as I looked up at him.

"What, I can't just let You freeze. I mean......."Well we are here" I said cutting him off.

We stopped dead in front of my dirty trailer. It was still pouring the rain as I handed his jacket back to him.

He looked down at me and I looked him straight in those beautiful midnight eyes.

As our eyes locked I felt something I've never felt before. It was rising up my stomach and it began to churn.

Before I could blink, right there in that moment, his gentle and soft lips touched mine.

It last only for a couple of seconds but it felt like eternity. The world was in revolving around us and the rain seemed to fall in slow motion.

As he pulled away he said gently in that soft kind voice of his "Tacos... Your not like any girl I have ever met." he pulled his sleeves over his thumbs and walked away saying bye as he disappeared into the shadows of the pourin rain.......

As he walked away I was speechless... I didn't know how much I had missed out on life. I had never kissed anyone, never had a boyfriend. I was always the quiet one and never had a crush before.

Now I think I have a crush and I have kissed someone. Maybe moving here wasn't that bad after all ..........

But living with a drunk ass mom is bad.

I open my door to the trailer and what I saw............
