Dylan's POV
It's been 24 hours. 24 full hours. No phone calls. What if she's already dead. You should of said you were her brother. You could of seen her one last time.
Ring. Ring. I pick up immediately. "Is this Mr. O'Brien?" A lady's voice says into the phone. "Yes, is this about Quinn Waver?" There's a pause. "Yes. She's awake." The nurse sounds sad though, she shouldn't. She should be happy while telling me happy news. Right?
"I suggest if you want to see her to hurry and get to the hospital. She... won't be awake long."
Right then and there my heart broke. It didn't just break though. It shattered. To the point of no return.
"She won't be awake long."
The same sentence plays through my head as I drive to the hospital, ten miles per hour over the speed limit.
"What room is Quinn Waver in?" I forgot if I gave her a last name so if this is wrong just deal with it. "Room 250." I speed walk into the door where I see a doctor next to her hospital bed.
"Sir, she woke up asking for you. It's just out of will power though. She lost a lot of blood. You have around five minutes before..." "Can I be alone." I interrupt him. I don't want to hear it.
She just stares at me. "It was an accident. I didn't realize how deep I was cutting before it went to deep. Dylan, I dont want to die." Her voice only comes out in a raspy whisper. Sudden realization hits me. She doesn't want to die, but yet, she's dying. I'm the last person she will ever see.
"The doctor said I'm already supposed to be dead. I'm just...lucky to have a couple more minutes."
She's hooked up to many machines. I don't want to look at her, but yet I do. I lean in and kiss her. "I'm not going to get over you, not ever." I already know I'm crying, not matter how hard I tried to avoid it. "There is letters for everyone I know. Read yours...they are on my desk by-"
That's it. The machines steady beeping cuts down to a ring. A constant ring.
I will miss you, Quinn.
And with that, I close her eyes.
The End.
(Epilogue will be posted soon. Please vote on the A/N at the top)
