"It turns out that the Greenfields are looking for land in Columbia and near the Mexican border. They say that it is for forestry and research purposes, but I believe different. I believe that the drug lord, David Rodriguez is a possible alias for Charles Greenfield." Dylan said, looking at the papers in front of him.

"Wait, are you trying to tell me that Charles Greenfield is a drug dealer?" I asked, flabbergasted. There was no way that my father was into drugs, right? But, then again my brother and father were just talking about buying land last night when I walked in on them talking. Was it possible, or was it all a coincidence?

"I believe so. Have you heard anything from Melanie about her family buying land?" He asked, looking at me. He really didn't know it was me? If he was a private investigator, had he already looked me up? Or did he know I was using a fake name and didn't care as long as he got the information he needed?

"Last night I went over to her place. She said that no one was supposed to be home, but we walked in on her dad and brother discussing buying land, they didn't say where but they had already put an offer of 50 million and apparently there was a competitor looking into the land as well. Her brother, Josh, said something about the land not being worth the price but it sounded like they were really desperate to get it. They heard us listening but when Melanie asked her dad about it, he wouldn't tell her anything. She thinks that he doesn't trust her...but do you really think it's drugs?" I asked again. I

"It makes sense. I am that other competitor to be honest. I offered the money...it all adds up. The only thing is, I don't have solid proof. Do you think there is a way to get solid proof?" He asked, expectant.

"I'm not sure...how would you ever get that. Wouldn't you need something to connect Charles with this so called David?" I asked, grabbing one of the files. I looked over the notes scribbled on the paper on top.

As stated before, there has been no actual meeting with D.R. It seems as if he is a phantom, only spoken about but never seen and yet most serious dealers know his name and legacy. Few things tie him to C.G. and yet, something in me makes me want to believe that they are the same person. Few things have overlapped, but those few things could—

"Exactly. But I don't know how...." He said, wiping his hand across the bottom of his jaw. That's when I noticed the five o'clock shadow that seemed to fit in perfectly with his whole look. I couldn't help but to drink him in with my eyes. He wasn't perfect, which was something I had grown so used to. His nose was slightly crooked, and there were dark circles underneath his eyes, most likely from late nights working on cases. But, still, through the imperfections in and on him, there was something that pulled me in; something that made me feel like I had known him for years. It wasn't what he told me, because I knew next to nothing about him. It was because he was so different, and that's exactly what I craved.

"Actually," I started, thinking about the conversation earlier today with the boy from lunch. "the Greenfields' have been purchasing land from families. Maybe 'purchasing' is the wrong word, more like forcing people off their lands." I said, sitting up.

"How do you know this?" He asked, looking me over. The way I felt his eyes on me, I knew that he was not only thinking about the case, I was so used to that look from men I could spot it a mile away. He was thinking about my lips on his body and his lips on mine.

"I was talking to someone from school, he had a hate for the Greenfields and when I pushed the matter he said that the greenfields had basically forced his family out of their home. Not only that, but it seems like they had done everything they could to mess the family up. Felicia Greenfield had an affair with his father, and Joshua Greenfield knocked up his sister and then forced her to have an abortion." I said, reciting all the information the boy had given me.
